Purchased DJI Pocket 3 Combo Package Deal.

Was Originally Told To Expect Delivery on January 3rd. Big Surprise, It’s Already Arrived .Great Packaging, Bonus Points For Early Delivery. Has A Cute Little Bag to Store Everything Neatly. Haven’t Had The Chance to Operate It to Test Everything But Am Excited By What I See. It’s Light Weight, so Will Make A Great Addition when I Start My Travels ( Hopefully In The Next Year).I Also Went Ahead And Purchased the Charger & Cable( Comes Seperately). Bought The Filters, and Storage Card.Cannot Wait to Compare it To The GoPro ( Which, I’ve Also Recently Purchased).1 Filter Is Delayed( No Reson Given For That Delay ) or When I Can Expect Delivery.

I am Zeospantera and I approve this Message

Having owned the pocket two for some time I was excited to own the upgraded pocket three period it’s much bigger frame however has made it a bit more cumbersome to carry around and my plans to head mount it are pretty much dashed however we are made-up for that size by a much better screen insanely good night vision captures and the competent digital zoom. I do wish this unit came with a ultra wide lens by default and the battery life was a little better but the processing seems to have put it on par with the previous model despite the larger size. There are still some quirks in its movement compared to the original 2 but I’m sure that will be updated with firmware.

    Amazing little camera!

Quality is great and the small size allows us to shoot video without being noticed. Generally we are using a larger rig and with that comes questions. This camera is unobtrusive and nobody notices most of the time. Well worth the investment. Highly recommend.

Nice upgrade from pocket 2, but the bag is useless.

I’m not an expert but it seems good so far. Pocket 2’s dynamic range was much worse, especially at 4k60, so this is nice. The creator combo includes a bag, but it doesn’t really fit the camera with its hard-shell case, so it doesn’t make sense. You would obviously keep those together. It should have been slightly larger. Also, it doesn’t have the compact tripod like pocket 2 did that could be stored on the shell.

    Great vlogging camera

This portable camera setup is so good, it is replacing my Sony ZV-1f w/ vlogging handle. Quality is on-par to the Sony, and even better in some situations (low-light w/ stabilization on), while being a much lighter/smaller setup to carry around and use.

    Perfect but for……..

This is a great vlogging camera. When you unpack the Combo be careful, lots of small pieces can get lost – extra lens, mic wind muff, etc. One suggestion, the case could have been made a little bigger – really tight to fit all the Combo items in the case – you gotta put them in they way they were packed by DJI, so pay attention when you unload. I think putting the camera in its provided hard case, really max’s out the Combo case.

    Great update

I have the original Pocket camera and this is heads and above beyond it. The 4K video quality is excellent, even with 2x digital zoom. Battery life is much improved and fast charging over USB-C is really great to have, as is the faster startup. The larger screen is a big improvement over the previous models. Tracking performance is also greatly improved and is quite smooth. I also have the Osmo Action 4 and I like the commonality between menus. With the larger sensor, low light performance is much better than the Action 4. After knowing I would be keeping this, I also ordered the wide-angle adapter and battery grip from DJI.

This is how you do upgrades!

I’m not a big camera guy. I did own the pocket 2 and I found it awkward to use especially with the terrible modules and the tiny useless screen. When the pocket 3 was announced, I was quite impressed with it! the flippable screen, the 1 inch sensor, the built in wireless connectivity, the improved mics, the unbelievably good low light performance, what’s not to like? This is a substantial upgrade that should inspire other companies to learn a thing or two on innovation. DJI knocked it out of the park with this one. They’re selling like hot cakes already!

    Video and photo quality

I’m almost bought the pocket 2 and by chance the 3 was released. It’s a really cool and powerful small camera. Even the pictures that take are awesome. I compare it to my iPhone 15 pro and it’s comparable. One thing iPhone does better is the follow focus. In a reveal shot the transition on the dji is abrupt where as the 15 pro is more subtle. Overall the dji osmo 3 is a fantastic camera. Sucks that they didn’t have the creator package available for fast shipping. So I’ll have to shell out a lot more after.

An absolute must-have for any creator.

I decided to upgrade my content creation with this bad boy and I’m so happy that I did! I absolutely LOVE it. Stunningly clear video quality, the gimbal works flawlessly, and the transitions from forward facing to read facing with just a quick click is mind-blowing. I use it primarily to capture b-roll and the quality is just as good as my Nikon Z50 when mixing.

Really nice improvements over the pocket 2

I planned to upload a low light video taken last night after the rain stopped. Pitch black. Only the house lights and streets are available for lighting and the video turned out amazing. No grainy artifacts. Clear colors of the fall leaves that fell on the ground. I think you be impressed with the video IF ONLY AMAZON WOULD STOP ERRORING when I try to upload it.I’m impressed with the Pocket 3

    Just what I needed!

The media could not be loaded.

So I purchased the DJI pocket 2 two weeks before this released! When I tell you I’m so glad I made the switch! This thing is phenomenal and gets the job doneIt works so good in low light and the bigger screen arrived just in time too! I have no complaints as of yet!

    VERY DISSAPOINTED!!!

I purchased pcoket 3 the week it came out and I was very excited! The built quality is fantastic, everything looked perfect UNTIL I tried to download the footage via wiifi to the mimo app! It didn’t work! I was able to preview the footage on pocket 3 but not using the mimo app, neither on my computer! The mp4 file wouldn’t open for some reason. I called the technical support, after spending almost an hour over the phone, the issue was not resolved and the tech support told me that “an engineer” would get in touch with me within 24 hours and that didn’t happen, either. I tried EVERYTHING!!! using different memory cards, reformatting the card by using pocket 3, but nothing worked! I finally returned pocket 3 back to Amazon for full refund. Now that I think about it, I actually don’t even need pocket 3 at the first place since I already have dji osmo mobile 6 and iphone 14 pro max. Osmo mobile 6 combined with your iphone will do everything pocket 3 does and you’ll also have a bigger screen and you will only shall out 150 bucks for osmo mobile 6! In conclusion, I do NOT recommend pocket 3. If you have an iphone, get yourself osmo mobile 6 instead and save hundreds of dollars in the process!

Not as crisp image as Pocket 2

The video quality is weird, distorted and blurry, I kept looking to see if there was a film on the camera I forgot to take off but it’s not as clean and crisp as the pocket 2. I will return this one and purchase the creator combo to see if maybe I received a bad unit.

Does not include Black Mist Filter – will update this review after I use the camera

I will update this review after I’ve had a chance to use it, but wanted to share my unboxing disappointment. If you watched all the YouTube review videos on the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and bought the Creator Combo expecting it to include the Black Mist Filter – it DOES NOT include the Black Mist Filter.Mine arrived early morning on 2023-10-26 and the Black Mist Filter I was looking forward to using was not there. I thought I’d have to return my order because of the missing filter, but I read the box and saw it only includes the wide-angle filter. This is my fault for assuming something based on YouTube review videos, but not reading the fine print. It looks like the Black Mist Filter is $50, and not available for another month or two. I wanted to overnight the filter, but instead, I’m writing this review. The Pocket 3 Expansion Adapter (also shown in YouTube review videos) is not available yet. I’d like to know how this works with the battery handle.More details coming soon after I use this Creator Combo.

    Not Worth The Price

Does what my phone could do. I did not authorize this transaction either. They’re telling me it’s going to take a month to get my money back. I’ll never buy anything DJI.

Overheats constantly – Auto settings tend to overexpose

I actually use my pocket 3 to record my kids sporting events. After 20 minutes in 80 degree weather recording at 4k60fps, it over heated. I let it cool off, same thing happened again.I have 2 of the pocket 2s and have used them for a couple years now, they are top notch. I have a black one that also tends to overheat, nowhere near as sensitive as the pocket 3. I have a white pocket 2 that has never overheated.I was very excited about the new 1″ sensor to help with the grainy nature of the video when I zoom in on footage in Premiere but since the Auto settings had everything in white get overexposed. I’m sure my usage is not typical for these cameras but so far, the pocket 2 is the better fit for me and it’s about 2/3rd the size of the pocket 3.I’m both frustrated and disappointed.

    A Great Pocket Cam

Whether I’m exploring bustling city streets or picturesque natural landscapes, the 1-Inch sensor of this camera never fails to deliver exceptional video quality. Its ability to capture stunning night views and breathtaking sunsets with enhanced clarity has immortalized those magical moments and allowed me to relive them with astonishing detail.2-inch OLED screen also surprises me, unlike Pocket 2, which lacked an immersive viewing experience due to its small screen and inferior image quality compared to smartphones, Pocket 3 can do effortlessly transitions between vertical and horizontal modes, making it a perfect fit for my vlogging adventures. Whether I’m showcasing the grandeur of a towering skyscraper or sharing a personal story on the go, it provides the utmost convenience and flexibility. I think that is the most interesting part compared to other normal vlog camera.Personally, I would prefer 3-axis mechanical stabilization than electronic stabilization, I can bid farewell to shaky videos. The stability it offers ensures smooth and cinematic footage, even when I’m on the move. From capturing the excitement of bustling street markets to the tranquility of coastal sunsets, this gimbal camera elevates the quality of my films. One of the standout attributes of pocket 3 is its lightweight build, allowing me to carry it effortlessly wherever my explorations lead me. Whether I’m hiking through rugged terrains or traveling to distant lands, its portability ensures that I never miss an opportunity to capture stunning footage. Not only is the video quality impeccable, but the stereo recording capabilities of this camera also enhance my videos with crystal-clear audio. The resulting high-quality sound complements the visuals, providing a truly immersive and captivating viewing experience. For those who demand professional-grade features, I would say Pocket 3is a game-changer as well. With support for D-Log M and 10-bit color depth, it caters to the needs of advanced users, providing greater control over the final output and facilitating seamless post-processing.Lastly, the fast and accurate focusing capabilities of this camera ensure every shot is sharply in focus. Whether I’m capturing fast-moving subjects in action or creating portrait-style compositions, it delivers remarkable results, setting the stage for visually striking and engaging footage. One minor downside for me is the limited options in terms of color availability. While this may not affect the camera’s functionality, I would prefer a wider range of color choices like white and blue.In conclusion, this handheld gimbal camera has transcended my expectations and become an indispensable tool in my videography endeavors. Its exceptional features, combined with its versatility and reliability, have empowered me to capture stunning footage in a wide range of real-life settings. Delighted with this purchase.

    amazing!

I’ve never seen a device so thrilling before. The upgrade from the second generation is truly significant! What I love most is its 4K 120fps 10-bit D-log video quality and its swivel screen. The UI is also fantastic; it’s super intuitive and user-friendly, making it utterly addictive to use.

The one we’ve been waiting for

I’ve owned the Pocket 1, 2 and now the 3. I’ve also owned the Fimi Palm. The Pocket 3 really is the miniature gimbal that those of us who want professional, stable footage in a tiny package have been waiting for all these years. The new “one inch” sensor, which is quite a bit smaller than an inch diagonally in reality, is much larger than the Pockets that came before and as such it provides a huge improvement in low light performance and shallower depth of field. The new lens is super sharp and if you find it too sharp you can turn it down, or up, in the settings. The 2 inch display feels enormous compared to the barely usable display on the Pocket 2 and for the first time it is now usable for properly composing the shot at arm’s length. The rotating mechanism was a very clever idea and it feels solid enough.Of course, the device is quite a bit larger now and when in its case it’s a lot larger than the Pocket 2. It’s at, or beyond, the limit for something that can realistically have the word “pocket” in the name as a descriptor. The slow motion is now in 4K (it was 1080p in the Pocket 2) and this makes it usable in semi-professional or even professional content. It doesn’t crop in when switching from 4K30 to 4K120. It even has functional auto-focus while recording at 4K120, though it’s not as reliable as when shooting at 4K30.The microphones sound good and it now has built-in wireless that’s compatible with the new DJI lav mic. Keep in mind that the USB port on this camera allows most wireless lav mic receivers to be plugged in so you can use your own Rode Wireless Go or Comica mic system if you don’t want to spend more money on DJIs mic. you can even plug in an ordinary wired lav mic by using an inexpensive USBC to 3.5mm adapter. In conclusion, I am extremely pleased with this camera and I feel it’s finally able to capture professional-level footage. I don’t think I will need my Sony RX100 on the big gimbal anymore because this can get me similar looking footage at a tiny fraction of the size, weight and bulk. The footage this can capture is far superior to what my iPhone on a phone gimbal can capture. It’s a superb device, though I admit for me it was a painfully expensive purchase.

The app that updates firmware for this device is banned from the US because the Chinese spy on us.. That deems this device useless for it can’t be updated on the firmware end.

    DJI has Done it again

It’s almost what doesn’t this camera do to finally help your vlog or social media channel. No more excuses of not having anyone to film you. The active track is pretty amazing. I have been in the media creating and photography space for over 20yrs and this will be the best selling action cam/vlog cam of 2023/2024.Pro: active track, low light is crazy good for things in its class. 1 inch sensor. I got the creator combo with the 32 bit float mic. <—- you do have to activate it in camera. Can be used as a webcam, can do 4x zoom in 1080p mode only. 2x zoom for 4k, 3 point moving time lapse( which one of the main reasons I got it) also the 4 x 120 slomotion. I shoot a lot of dance for clients so this is an excellent choice for this. I can do drone and birds I shots with the selfie stick and not have to worry about zones and credentials. It’s pretty stealthy and folks don’t really even notice what you are doing. Bang for buck this beats out ZV10 and Zv1 from Sony because it’s and all in one.Cons: this will be on back order. Like all DJI and GoPro products you will need to get the extras for your preferred interest. Also I go the insurance for 2yrs because I can already tell I will get excited and maybe try and put this every where. That does get you 4 replacements over 2 yrs at $35 bucks a pop.Wish the active track went 360. Not sure if it’s a mechanical thing or not. They have other tools for this. So you could combine the two if that is a need.I love the panorama mode but wish it did something like take 12 pics in 180 to stitch get super hi res picture together. This could be great for real estate.Who is this camera for. You the creator that has been procrastinating. Ok I am talk to myself here. Ha Ha.It can be great for real estate tours, skating at a skate park if you set it up right. Cooking in the kitchen and you could do web cam with IPad or laptop. ( you will need the DJI mic. Or other wireless mics that have type C connector. This is great for anyone that does Timelapse work such as tattoos artist, painter, potters. So many uses. I would ignore most that say something not so good because I have watch some that took no time to set up the camera the right way. No camera out of the box really works its best until you set your own custom preset which you can do 5. Of you like super slowmotion that can be at 240fps at 1080 but do this one with really good lighting. Does work as well in low light for that.I will be getting nothing one because you could get two tracking shots for a vlog/podcast with the two mics going into one. 3 people found this helpful

    Will Not Activate Without App

I ordered this DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo based on the 1″ sensor.I don’t shoot a lot of video as a still photographer, but I find that I now have a need to record high-quality videos where I am demonstrating various alternative processes in photography. I had an old (and cheap) knockoff of a GoPro, but the videos it produced were pretty horrible. This compact unit works pretty well. It can be set to follow you around, does a good job in low light, and the gimbal produces smooth videos. Say what you will, but cameras with larger sensors will always outperform those with smaller sensors. There is a major negative to this camera, though. Basically, it is a brick unless you download the dji app and register the camera. There is something distasteful when a company sells you an expensive product and then forces you to turn over god knows what by making you register and download an app.

    A big upgrade

The Pocket 3 is a big upgrade from the Pocket 2. Let me elaborate: bigger sensor (meaning it produces a better image in more scenarios), bigger screen (making it easier to see what you’re filming and to make changes to the settings), better battery life, and vastly improved built-in capabilities. What are the downsides? It is a physically larger camera. But it remains smaller than almost anything else out there and far exceeds the capabilities of cameras close to this size. Why would you get this versus an action camera? Basically if you ever shoot indoors or outdoors on a cloudy day, this camera will easily outperform an action camera. Because it has a physical gimbal, the image will be stable and high quality. In lower light scenarios, action camera video quality and stabilization suffers immediately. Where you might still want to use an action camera is in the rain or heavy wind scenarios. This camera isn’t built to withstand those situations. Why would you get this if you already have an iPhone or similar? Between active tracking, timelapses, and other modes, you have access to features the iPhone doesn’t offer. The stabilization is also impressive on the iPhone, but not as good as the Pocket especially in low light. The pocket also handles external audio better especially with the wireless mic in the combo package.I’m very impressed with this camera. Even with the early firmware, it is exceptionally well featured. The design is a big improvement over prior versions. It remains to be seeing how it will perform on rainy days or how that twisting screen design will hold up over the years. But it is an excellent camera which I highly recommend.

This is the VIDEO Camera for a Holiday Gift

This review will address those who are thinking about getting it as gift this holiday, but don’t really know what this camera is exactly. This is a modern looking camera with lots of technology that allow videos to be smooth. This little camera might look a little funny, because it is not the kind of shape usually equated with taking videos. The reason for that is because it is a gimbal. That means that when you record different scenes, the videos are going to come out with NO shake. They will be smooth and stable due to the mechanics inside the camera. That is the number one feature that makes this great for video lovers. Shaky footage is really difficult to watch. The Pocket 3 is called that because it is tiny and pocketable, therefore it is perfect for traveling. On that note, these cameras must be treated well. They are durable but not rugged like action cameras. They are also not waterproof. However, unlike action cameras these take great night footage because it’s a mechanical gimbal and not electronic. For people who might be a little shy to vlog (like me), this is a great camera to have because it’s small and doesn’t call attention. With the right editing can produce excellent quality footage. The one inch sensor is in this tiny is the same size sensor as in regular sized cameras. It’s also necessary to mention that this is mainly for videos, though you can take photos. The audio is good too. The company took years to improve upon the older model, and produced an actual upgrade. It would make a generous gift and is worth it.

Perfect travel companion! Great for school plays!

This is my first DJI Osmo Pocket, and I’m very impressed with its usability. I don’t vlog necessarily, but I take a lot of videos of the family during vacations. I’ve used dedicated camcorders, DSLRs and mirrorless cameras for this purpose in the past, and they all had shortcomings due to their size and usability. Osmo Pocket 3 is the perfect combo for my needs! It’s incredibly small compared to a mirrorless setup, and the gimbal works wonders for balancing the shot with zero shakes. It’s very easy to rotate the camera for what I’m viewing and a quick comment about the scenery by myself or others in the group. The rotatable screen is an awesome function. Of course, it’s smaller than my SONY mirrorless screen, but that’s the whole point! The extended battery came in really handy during a school play recently. I also had a chance to test out the BT microphone during the same event. I asked for a permission from his teacher to attach the microphone on my son’s shirt discreetly, and I was able to record with him as the focus point (I used my phone to record the ensemble in general). I’m still in learning period about all its functions, but it is so much fun to use this small but mighty recorder! Highly recommended!

    Lacking in IQ

This camera has the chance to be a disruptive in the vlogging segment, and could trounce the flip screen mirrorless setups that cost double. DJI’s next iteration should fix over heating and activation issues, or someone else will beat them to the form factor.

    Amazing Little Camera

The media could not be loaded.

I owned 2 of the original Osmo Pockets.. they were cool little cameras, but the video quality is was just so-so… so ultimately, I rarely used them. They were more of a novelty than a tool. I decided to skip the Osmo 2… but the new articulating screen/aspect ratio on the Osmo 3 caught my attention.I am glad that it did.I am a big fan of the new Osmo 3 – others have compared it to an iPhone 15 Pro, but I find the Osmo 3 sharper and seems to beat the iPhone in most categories (maybe not in focus following). The footage from the Osmo 3 is *very* good… even when you are indoors. I need to use it more… but my initial thought is that it rivals my GH5 (which shocks me!).Notes– Have to start with the sensor… this 1″ sensor blows me away. Looking at the footage, and knowing the light situation, I would have guessed that it was a MFT (micro 4/3) sensor. It performs well in an indoor setting (with little noise), it is crisp, the white balance is spot on, fully saturated colors… it is impressive.- Love the articulating screen – the ability to flip the screen and change the aspect ratio of your video is awesome. If you publish to a variety of social media platforms, you are going to love this. It is so easy to film both a long-form YT video in 16:9 landscape and then flip the screen to film a Short or a Tik Tok.- Stabilization – what you would expect from DJI… it works very well, but it takes a bit of time to get used to it and/or dial it in to your preference.- Form factor – very easy to hold and perfect for travel. I think the creator package is close to a must just so that you can get the battery pack and tripod (although you can get non-DJI tripods ones cheaper).- Battery life – very good…. but I have not tested it enough to know the limits- Expandable memory… I say that because the biggest rival will be camera phones. I really like that I can drop a 256mg card into the slot and not have to worry about filling up the memory on my phone. There is obviously a lot more to the camera than what I have included, but IMO, the Osmo Pocket 3 is a pretty clear winner. It has a great, small form factor, but it rivals larger rigs in performance clearly, a GH6 or a full-frame rig set up will produce higher quality footage… but this little Osmo has its advantages.

Wonderful camera, terrible app unless you’re on Apple

This is a fantastic little gimbal camera. It offers 4K 60 fps video, and the tracking is great. I put this on the floor with the included tripod, focused on one of my little dogs, and then let it go. The camera turned and followed my little goofball as she played. It’s quick to fire up as well. Just flip the screen and it is ready to record. It is weird that such an expensive camera, even the creator’s edition, does not come with even a starter micro SD card. The included accessories are great. An extra battery and the tripod make this an easy to hold and everything snaps together and comes apart quite easily. There’s a small lens included as well that snaps on so you can do wide screen.Image quality is truly excellent, but what else would you expect from DJI, a company that makes the best drones in the biz.The big issue is the terrible app and setup process. First, the little QR code that pops up on the screen upon first firing up the device is unreadable. I think the screen was too bright. Easy fix, you say. Just turn down the brightness. Sure, but you have to install the app to start using the device. The app on the android store ended up being for their store front and absolutely does not do a thing for the OSMO. I finally figured out that on Android it is required that you download an APK from their website and manually install it. This means going into your phone settings and unlocking 3rd party downloads. Once installed, I could not get it to stay connected to my OSMO, nor finish a firmware update. This took hours. I finally gave up, dug out an old iPhone, charged it, and then I was in business. So if you have an iPhone, the app should be a piece of cake to set up. If you have android, prepare for an unpleasant experience.

Used it everyday for a month long trip day and night

I picked this up at the last min before leaving on a month long trip. I also had with me two Sony cameras. In the end I used the Pocket 3 for 90% of everything we shot as it just works great. battery life is very good. we walked 5 to 6 hours a day shooting turning it on and off hundreds of time with zero problems.I shot over 1TB of 4k video with it I need to edit into many different videos. Its so small and easy to use. Most people do not even know you are video shooting as it dose not look like a camera. I also shot some still images and they look very good as well. Very glad I got this before the trip and will be using it all the time. To just stand in one place and have it pan from left to right or up and down pressing the button is so smooth no tripod or video head needed like you would need for a camera. The gimbal head makes shooting so much more smooth. Shooting at night I was very impressed as the video is very clean so I shot with it at night in many towns we went to in and outdoors. I have to say it is the most versatile little video camera to use.

    Impressive Performance

From the moment I held Pocket 3 in my hands, I knew I had made the right choice.–Outstanding image provided by 1-inch sensor, whether I’m capturing stunning landscapes or fast-paced action, the clarity and sharpness of the footage are truly impressive.–The 3-axis stabilization system keeps the footage incredibly smooth and steady. Gone are the days of shaky and amateurish videos – this camera takes my storytelling to a whole new level of professionalism–With intuitive controls and a user-friendly interface, I was able to navigate its features effortlessly, allowing me to focus on my creativity and storytelling.–Nice audio quality, The built-in microphone captures clear and immersive sound, ensuring that every word, every laugh, and every ambient noise is accurately preserved–Portability is also a key feature that I adore. Whether I’m hiking in the great outdoors or exploring bustling city streets, this camera is lightweight and compact, making it a breeze to carry and use on the go.– Camera itself does not come with built-in storage, necessitating the use of an SD card for storage purposes.Try it out. I think you’ll like it.

Image quality is nothing short of phenomenal

I’m 76 and have been avidly interested in cameras since I was in my 20’s. I’ve had all sorts of action cameras such as Akasos, Yi, several DJI’s including the Action 3 and the Pocket 2. Never have I been as impressed and pleased with a camera’s performance as I have been with the Pocket 3. DJI truly hit it out of the park with this one. I’ve waited for two years for its release and it has not disappointed and has, in fact, gone beyond my most optimistic hopes. The OLED screen is beautiful and bright, the mic attaches effortlessly, the user interface is clear, sensible, and helpful, but more than anything it is the image quality that just blows my mind. I was lab manager for a photography studio for a number of years so I’m a real stickler for image quality. This is going to sound kind of weird but when I view the video on my 4k television the images are so beautiful I almost get the urge to lick the screen! Thankfully I have thus far resisted the temptation.I have but one criticism and it’s very minor. The case that comes with the creator combo is a little too small. You can get everything in it but it’s a slog and really not worth it. It is a very nice case, though, and I’m sure I’ll be using it for something else.Great job DJI!

Excellent Camera! Huge upgrade from Pocket 2

The media could not be loaded.

I recently got my hands on the DJI Pocket 3 camera, and I must say, I’m thoroughly impressed with its performance. This little powerhouse excels in various video modes, but my personal favorite has to be the Timelapse feature. The 4k Timelapse videos it produces are nothing short of stunning. One standout feature for me is the battery. It charges incredibly fast, taking less than 20 minutes to get back to full power. This means less downtime and more shooting time, which is a huge plus. The portability of the DJI Pocket 3 is another highlight. It’s a perfect companion for my Dji Mavic and mini 3 drones, allowing me to capture supplemental footage effortlessly. The addition of the rotating screen and quick power-on modes is a game-changer. It adds convenience to the shooting process, making it easy to frame shots and start recording in no time. The new user interface is user-friendly, making navigation and adjusting settings a breeze. One unique feature that I find special is the ability to record in portrait mode. This opens up creative possibilities and adds a fresh dimension to my videos. All in all, the DJI Pocket 3 camera is a fantastic addition to any videographer’s toolkit. Its versatility, speed, and user-friendly design make it a top-notch choice for capturing high-quality content on the go.I opted for the basic package but wish I had done the creator combo. If you’re on the fence about it, I recommend the creator combo just for the value. Adding extra items like a battery handle or wide lens add up quickly.

    Don’t believe the hype

If you want to overpay for a basic video camera then this is the model for you. Less functional then your smart phone at roughly the same cost, the Pocket 3 will not record vertical format video at 4K – only 3K. Your digital zoom is limited to 4x in some aspects and 2x in others but don’t worry because the video won’t be issuable beyond 2x digital zoom anyway because you’re not even shooting in 4K to begin with. Why buy this camera? In short, it has a good gimbal and is relatively compact so if you want to take closeup video of food, friends, or landscapes it will work fine but still no better then your smartphone. With a better gimbal then your phone you may be able to get better closeup motion for product videos but given it’s utter lack of features that’s probably not reason enough to buy one. I processed the return within 10 minutes of having it setup. Very disappointed.

    Great Travel Camera

Had the Pocket 2 and loved it. The Pocket 3 is definitely an upgrade and really appreciate the bigger rotatable screen. There are enough Pros review though that I agree with so I will skip to the cons in my opinion as I see them less mentioned.First, when the screen is rotated for Vertical video mode, the gimbal doesn’t turn sideways like some newer DJI drones do and therefore changes quality from 4k to 3K as it’s basically a crop video now. Not a deal breaker but something to be aware of.Also, the carry bag in the creator combo does not fit the camera in the hard case. At least not fully zipped. You either have to store the camera in the Hard case only or the camera in carry bag only without the hard case. Too bad since it’s a cool little bag that fits everything else. In some forums, people have claimed they are able to fit everything but for some reason never provide photo proof when asked to share a post. Maybe you will have better luck or better packing skills than me to fit all the gear. Anyway, overall still recommend the camera itself.

    DJI does it again

The media could not be loaded.

I did a ridiculous amount of research before I purchased the pocket 2, and I was pleased with it performance, but it wasn’t necessarily as good as most phones nowadays I just received the pocket 3 today and it’s absolutely phenomenal. It completely blows the pocket 2 out of the water. Absolutely gorgeous 4K video comes off of this thing extremely pleased with the low light video. I haven’t tested photos yet, but I mainly will use it for video. They finally added the ability to use it as a WebCam, and that was a major drawback from the older oneBeing able to flip the screen and easily create Instagram reels is a huge plus and makes the whole experience a lot more smoothHaving Wi-Fi and Bluetooth completely built into it is also a great addition no more clumsy connections to make it connect to your phone and it seems to connect much smoother than the other one.The mic that comes with the creative combo is a much needed upgrade to the older Mic. It’s very clear and the wind cover works very well. The joystick is now built-in on the predecessor. It was a slide in slide out connector piece. They’ve really improved that as well. There’s a great option when you flip the screen to instantly start recording that’s absolutely great because you may be in a situation where you need to grab video right away and having that ability is really great. If you’re on the fence about getting the combo or just the camera, I would highly suggest getting the combo. It comes with a great carry in case and everything fits just right to protect everything. Plus it comes with the battery handle which I know will come in handy later on down the line.I do wish the stand was a little bit more compact than the previous models did but it’s definitely not dealbreaker. For this being the first day, it’s released to the public. They really did an amazing job creating a product that will definitely add to vlogger or anyone looking for a great B cam.

    Great!

I just received this little camera today and play for a couple of hours. This camera elevated my video experience. The 1-Inch sensor delivers clear night views and vibrant sunsets. The 2-inch OLED screen is versatile for vlogging, switching seamlessly. Compared to my iPhone 15 Pro Max, it’s lighter, smaller, and easy to carry. The 3-axis stabilization ensures steady, professional footage, and the stereo recording enhances audio quality. It supports advanced editing for pros. The fast focusing creates sharp, clear footage every time. However, it requires caution due to its gimbal. In summary, Pocket 3 is versatile, reliable, and enhanced my video skills. I love it so much.

Everything I loved about the Pocket and Pocket 2

I loved my Osmo Pocket, Pocket 2, and this Osmo Pocket 3 fits right in. While physically larger that’s okay because of the larger sensor. The screen is easier to use than the older units (you can still do everything without flipping the screen if you want), and the trick from the Pocket 2 is still there if you start recording with your hand turned in portrait it will keep recording that way in 4k instead of recropping the sensor to the new portrait mode (which is fine but I wanted it in 4K and wanted to see if that was still in there, it is).I really enjoy the DJI Mic2 that’s in the creator kit, it builds upon the mic from the Pocket 2’s creator kit and my later DJI Mic that I loved, this adds 32 bit float and can be controlled by the camera for your backup recording (and the float). I like that the receiver is built in as I had a bad connection once with one of my old Rode Wireless Go family of mics and lost audio for an interview that couldn’t be redone, another interview the Wireless Go 2s turned themselves off after an update and thankfully the camera was close enough to make the video work but it would have been so much better with proper mic tracks, this eliminates the failed connection issue and if you have vibration turned on you’ll know if they didn’t activate. The tripod in the creator kit is much easier to use but also bigger than the one in the Pocket 2’s kit. Practically none of your accessories from the original Pocket, Pocket 2, or older OSMOs will work with this unless they weren’t dependent on the lens or wireless functions, basically USB-C accessories that didn’t have shaped mounts to those older cameras, so the Pocket 2 tripod will work.I like the improvements in tracking and low light performance, and a “Pocket” is now back in my pocket for any of my shoots where it isn’t raining (back to the action cams for that case).

    Incredible Creative Device

The good:Been using the pocket 2 for over a year mostly for capturing family moments and making home video edits. I’ve been waiting for this one to come out hoping it would improve the low light performance so I wouldn’t have to switch to my iPhone in low light situations. The pocket 3 does not disappoint! It outperforms my iPhone 14 pro in low light video performance and having the physical image stabilization from the gimbal in low light is a game changer. I got the Osmo mobile thinking I’d use that with the iPhone in low light situations. That works nicely, but the reality was its just too many steps to want to do it for family moments and it’s quite a bit more conspicuous. The mic produces great quality audio and having the 8 GB internal storage on the mic itself for backup audio is a super nice safety net to have.Active tracking is actually usable on this one with the ability to track anything with 9 different framing options all accessible within the camera itself. The battery handle is awesome to have. Love that the camera depletes the battery handle before using the main battery. The way accessories mount to the bottom of the unit is much nicer. No more sore fingers. IYKYK.The built in joystick is awesome.Startup time is noticeably improved and having the option to turn the unit on and start recording just by flipping the screen will allow me to get shots I would have missed otherwise. The pocket 3 connects wirelessly to your phone for monitoring, controlling or just downloading clips from the pocket. No more fumbling with accessories and removing my iPhone case to drop a clip from the camera! The bad:Compared to larger cameras the dynamic range is not great. You can maximize it by using ND filters to keep the ISO low, but it can’t compete with a larger mirrorless/DSLR camera in this area.It is physically larger than the Pocket 2 by a good margin. It still fits in my pocket/fanny pack surprisingly well though.Overall this thing is an absolute creative powerhouse. Very happy with it.

    Beautiful

This is an amazing camera and bundle. I have a Pocket Osmo 1 and have gotten some great shots from it. The 3 is similar in functionality but has huge jumps in quality and technology. The face and focus tracking has been flawless in my tests. One of my biggest issues with the other pocket Osmos has been the screen. With this new large screen I finally feel like I don’t need my phone to get a great shot. The ease of switching the modes by flipping the screen is a genius design. There are so many built in features it is going to take me a long time to test them all. I’ll have to update my review as I go but so far I’m in awe. *Except for one thing, the wide angle adapter. It hardly adds to the frame. It just gives it a fisheye curvature. I would have liked a polarizer instead.

    Tiny!

This thing is tiny, and has such a good sensor on it. Basically using the gimbal and sensor from one of their drones, this is a standalone version, but has some extra software on it as well.It does come with quite a few things, the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 itself, a short handle/tripod attachment, a longer battery one, tripod (to sit in on a flat surface), a protective plastic cover, the case, and this creator combo comes with the DJI Mic as well (the Osmo Pocket 3 supports up to 2 so you can add a second as well).Quality is really good, gimbal is really good — in follow mode where it detects people it’s quite amazing — I also like how you can flip it around to have it look at you quick as well. The only major complaint I’ve hit so far is that the protective case when it’s on the osmo, means it doesn’t fit in the nice little bag that ships with the Osmo — why???

imagine quality is impressive! This punches way above its weight, and build quality is like an apple product. I actually bought two of these and I’m using them for video production, this camera can easily match up with a professional mirrorless camera, has a stabilizer, is easy to use and carry around, it’s a no brainer for any content creator. The low light mode is straight witchcraft, clean image even in extreme low light conditions, and for professionals, the Dlog 10-bit is easy to color grade and it doesn’t break apart easily.

I had the Pocket 2 before buying the DJI Pocket 3 creator combo, and It is quite the upgrade. It has pro features that make it an amazing tool for the video business owner.      This was a gift for my daughter, and she just received it and created this awesome video. She is in all of the ease-of-use and the quality of the picture as you can see.. Definitely worth the money.

REQUIRES activation via phone app, or you cannot use it. App does not support all phones.

NOTE: Before you buy this camera, make sure you can download and install their app on your phone. Otherwise, you cannot use the camera. The Mimo app is not available on Google play, and will not install from their website on my Android phone running fully compatible OS v9.0 (8.0+ is required).I bought it and cancelled the order after more research. You can’t use it out of the box. You have to install their app on your phone, and then you have to acquire permission to use the camera by agreeing to another contractual End-User-License-Agreement. Then you will be connecting it to your phone, which sends your IP address and GPS location coordinates to DJI’s servers. Otherwise, you cannot use the product. You get 5 chances to skip the activation, after which, your purchase is held hostage until you comply. The answer is NO. Requiring a EULA and connection to corporate servers in order to use a device I paid for, is unacceptable. This should be optional, and opting out should not limit any functionality of the device.

    Good idea, poor execution

It seemed like it was going to be the perfect camera for me and travel. It does take great video, even in low light. The case situation leaves something to be desired. Every time I took the camera to use it, the lens had shifted to being exposed (while still in the case) leaving it vulnerable to scratches, damage, etc. But that’s not the worst of it. The camera turns on by turning the screen horizontal. After only having it a month it no longer *stays* horizontal and turns itself off. I’m devastated. Wish I’d just bought the Action 4 or GoPro 12 at this point because it would still be working.
