The technology behind the noise cancellation
Dual noise sensor technology, featuring two microphones on each earcup, captures ambient noise and passes the data to the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1. Using a new algorithm, the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN1 then applies noise cancelling processing in real time to a range of acoustic environments. Working together with a new Bluetooth Audio SoC (System on Chip), it senses and adjusts to music and noise signals, as well as acoustic characteristics between the driver unit and ears, at over 700 times per second.

Good quality with an insane noise cancelling
Use them about 3 days. This is my first headphones with noise cancelling. I guess my ears still don’t understand what’s going on when I activate noice cancelling mode, hope this some little discomfort will be disappeared after some time.Sound quality is good enough – before it I’ve been using Sennheiser HD 350BT – ther is no such a huge difference in sound quality as I excpected, but the bass and electronical sound is much better in Sony.The detector in the left earcup that stop music/video when you take off the headphones should be must have in all headphones. Defenately recommend the product. Delivery was super fast. Thank you!

Not Super Impressed
I have read a lot of credible reviews online and all were very positive. It was also rated the best bluetooth headphones of 2021 by a lot of credible internet sites. Maybe because of these, I set my expectations very high before I made the purchase. Prior to this, seldom use bluetooth headphones or earbuds to listen to music.After trying it out for the first time and the few days, this is what I can say. The headphones are well-made and light but not as comfortable as I expected based on all the reviews I read. The sound was great but not as good as my wired headphones. I paired it with my laptop and listened to some of my favorite music. The audio was breaking as I was moving around my small flat, going from the living room to the kitchen, toilet, bedroom and back. I cannot say if it is an issue with the laptop or headphones. These model has a lot of features and I am not sure if I will ever be using all of them. The previous model (obviously cheaper by now) would probably be good enough for me.

Balance, Clear, Comfortable, NC Pefect
When using on occasional and not extended time, it is absolutely enjoyable. I use it to listen to all genre of music, game play, radio and travel in aircraft, train and bus. Sound quality is Sony signature. These headphones are not designed for workout. Therefore, sportsperson should not purchase for sports use. Use the headphones for light and easy leisure listening. Connectivity no issues. Highly recommended!

Good noise cancelling function
POSITIVES:- Fabulous noise cancelling feature, so good I even sleep in them to drown out traffic noise. Not the most comfy to sleep in but getting used to them.- Very comfortable when not sleeping in them- Sound quality is great, but then I’m new to the world of expensive head phones so it will of course sound amazing to meNEGATIVES:- They do make yout ears warm but they needed to be snug for the noise cancelling to work- I can’t seem to get the functions in the right ear phone to work efficiently.. on, off, skip track etc.- If you make any noise, laugh at a podcast, grunt in the gym, cough, sneeze etc. they assume you want to turn off sound and noise cancelling.. this is probably the most frustrating thing about them.OVERALL: All in all good noise cancelling headphones. They aren’t cheap but in my opinion they are worth the investment.

Absolutely incredible! I use it for my work and entertainment
My work involves a lot of video editing this helps me a lot for long wear and doesn’t seem to hurt my ear, very comfortable! This could depend on individual depending on their headshape and ear.Sound quality is really good, the bass isn’t one of those that could make you go wooooah! but its there, its good. The high frequency, the mids are all well balanced.The ANC (audio noise cancellation) is brilliant! Sometimes I love to sit in coffee shop and work and this seem to serve the purpose really well.The other features like ambient sound is good for speaking, but this feature isn’t something to be awed about. It is there but I wouldn’t use it much. The auto feature is a bit of gimmick especially if you’re in a crowded place the headphone seem to think of it as you are speaking and tends to enable it.The microphone is really good and ideal for calls but only when the surrounding isn’t too loud, the way it tries to cancel out the environment makes our voice muffled. The battery life of 30 hours playback and 38 hours (with ANC off) is a bargain!Overall definitely a recommendation! It has been almost a month, lets see how it goes and will update if anything on the long run!

Perfect Headphone and an amazing colour
I have been using the black colored 1000m4 headphones for over a year and decided to change to the AirPods max due to raving reviews on YouTube. I liked the sound and noise cancellation but had to sell them after a few weeks as they were too impracticable (dumb case, slippage and discomfort due to wrong headphone weight distribution , moisture retention in the ear chamber and non folding size ) and the max felt like a first generation product. I switched back to the Sonys but this time got the silent white color, so far I love these as they have the same great sound, build quality and a proper case.However the major reason for my switch back to them was the comfort and weight which is much more evenly distributed and are comparatively lighter to the max.These headphones have top tier noise canceling and the white color really makes them stand out even with the generic deisgn.

I won’t go into specifics because you can find that easily online.It was a hell of a choice to decide between the other brands. Finally i came down to two, Bose and Sony. Having compared these with my Sennheiser momentum the Sony seems more comfortable and is a more aesthetically pleasing design.As for audio quality they are comparable with the Sennheiser in most aspects . So the audio quality is very good. I use them without equalisation .The quality of manufacture is good and they are ergonomically designedI don’t think Sony need to worry about competition from the New Dyson Hannibal Lechter headphones ……

This headphone is built well, very light weight, easy to pair, and has a nice protective case you can bring around anywhere. If you’re looking for a headphones for phone and conference calls this will do the job but there are other headphones built specifically in that regard.The noise cancelling on this headphone is by far one of the best-in-class noise cancellation engine I have ever tried. It’s light weight, has moderate clamping force but not for working out or any other activities except while walking or doing normal motions.The battery lasts for almost a day for a continuous usage while charging time is just quick in less than two hours.

Speechless..

I just receive my headphone and it was so quick last night i place an order and this morning 08:00am i got mine , so about and hour i listen and i realize the base is not up to tw mark but the sound quality and anc is perfect as described and i dont like that charging cable coz it is too small or short so i give 4 star any ways, and yeah i would recommend this to all who play pubg also i you dont like more base while listening song this is for you absolutely perfect👌🏻👌🏻

I feel like this is the best of the best in noise-cancelling headphones. I feel like I’m immersed in music when I’m listening to it – the key feature I would say is the bass! Man does it give a punch in the ear. Awesome bass. Not that heavy and fits perfectly on my ears. I still feel like there won’t be much difference with the XM5’s. If you are planning to invest in a NC headset I’d totally recommend this.

After considering many options and checking other headphones at the mall, i opted for these as they met all my requirements. Amazon has the best pricing, even during Dubai Shopping Festival.I am upgrading after a longtime having enjoyed the previous wired Sony MDR-1A headphones.Headphone comes in a nice case, placing it securely will require some adjustment.The software for the headphone thankfully allows the user to adjust the equalizer to suit their listening style, along with other intuitive options.Battery life is very good and will last as advertised.Connecting with windows laptop does require a bit of technical know how, however it’s a onetime setup.Apart from music, these headphones also perform well for watching movies, PlayStation etc.Let’s hope Sony decides to replicate this performance and quality for an ANC earbud.

Meets my expectations and more
I really like the noise cancellation feature, it’s helpful when I need to focus on my work in the office. Superb Sound and Noise Cancelling Quality!
I love how the noise cancelling works, and how nicely integrated the Sony headphones app is. It is not pressurizing on the ear and the head. The gestures work very smoothly and the proximity sensors are very snappy in switching between pause and play. The feature of connecting two devices at the same time is very helpful! It has very good battery life.What may only be a downside, maybe for me, would be the connection with PCs, because I had to connect with the computer wired to get the computer to automatically install the drivers, for that I had to refer to a youtube video. Not a major issue, but a little bit of a hassle for those who are not much into tech and want to use it seamlessly.

Simply outstanding!
Simply outstanding. I had a pair of Bose which I used for years and they have always had incredible sound – until I used these. The features, battery life, ease of use, intuitive operation, app etc is all amazing, but the sound is phenomenonal. It beats many high end headphones for sound quality and is extremely well balanced across the different frequencies.You will not regret buying these. The noise cancelling is also second to none, used it on a long haul flight recently and felt like I was on a beach!

PERFECT NOISE CANCELLATION AND MUSIC QUALITY
Loved this compare to MX5, first of all it’s portable and foldable, I carry it even when I travel out of the country. The Noise Cancellation is perfect for your noisy talkative office mates, plus the sound quality for music is good, you can also create equalizers for presets, plus connect to 2 devices without disconnecting the other. I connected both my iPhone and windows laptop and can play music simultaneously without turning off the Bluetooth of the other device. However, for editing videos, it’s best to plug it in rather than using Bluetooth to master the audio.

1 yr use Review: Good Noise Cancellation , BRILLIANT Sound quality, Charges lasts long
Bought this Jan 2021 and I have been using it for a year now, thought I should leave a proper review.I had somewhat unreasonable expectations on noise cancellation (even though I did tons of research on what frequencies they tend to muffle out). Truth is even the best Noise cancelling headphones (this one or Bose Quiet Comforts) will be excellent in completely tuning out constant, low frequency hums (think of airplane or car engine sounds). It will tone down human voices but will not completely eliminate them.Now I was initially quite a bit disappointed by this fact but as it turned out, this was a solid purchase for me regardless.One of the biggest perks of noise cancellation is that with the surrounding sounds lower, you can listen to music/anything at a lower volume – over the long term this will reduce hearing loss and keep ears sensitive. The sound quality is brilliant, the bass just pops out and you can play with the settings in the headphones complementary app to alter to your taste. After using these headphones for a while, I tried on my sister’s JBL headphones and the difference was real.It covers the ears fully – I found it a bit ‘heavy’ on the ears first but its something you get used to.Even though noise cancellation alone doesn’t tune out human voices, there are ways to still do so that yield better results with WHM4 (or any higher end noise cancelling headphones) compared to other regular headphones E.g. I turn on Noise cancellation THEN play some cafe sounds or rain noise or white noise and sometimes layer that with some Spotify music. I am then oblivious to all the loud arguments in the living room unless I take my headphones off. Didn’t even hear my annoying neighbor ringing the doorbell.The charge lasts quite long, with moderate-intensive use you might have to charge say every alternate day.Bonus tip that I didn’t figure out early on: Noise cancellation works even if you use wired mode without Bluetooth. If you are working at a wifi congested place, might work better signal strength wise.

Good noise cancelling
The package arrived undamaged. So I mainly got this for listening to music as I am a sony loyalist. This is my first noise cancelling set and it is very impressive. The Xm 5 s are good too from what I hear for noise cancelling but for listening to music I prefer these. But just a slight issue, when these do their noise cancelling it can get a little uncomfortable in the ears and head after a while for me. I just turn off ambient sound mode (pressing the custom button twice) and I can listen to anything for much longer. The ear cup design itself helps with a lot of noise cancelling for my personal use.However, I believe feeling a little uncomfortable would be the case with any contemporary noise cancelling over the ear headphones and everyone has different thresholds for such things. Other than that it was a good purchase.

superb for sound and exercise
Before buying these I did a bit of research. My son wanted a pair of headphones to exercise with. He uses ear buds but they keep falling out. He wanted over head earphones instead.I looked for good sound quality and this Sony pair were well to the top of comparison websites that I looked at. I then looked for headphones that were suitable for training with and again this pair were recommended. So I bought them for his birthday. His verdict? superb!

Great upgrade from its predecessors!
After deciding on several different wireless over-ears, I finally settled on these for their price. Wasn’t too impressed with out-of-box sound but after messing with Sony’s companion app, I sometimes get goosebumps listening to some tracks. It’s really good but it needs to be tweaked. I love multi-device pairing and it’s one of the reasons which steered me away from the other options. Build is above average. Touch control works well but I feel the reported ‘phantom touch’ issue is real based on my first use on a flight in fairly cold cabin conditions. Battery life is very good and I never have battery anxiety when I’m on these. For what I paid, I have no regrets. Being an Apple user, I simply can’t justify forking out the extra for the Max. I’ll use the savings on these to get a pair of Monitoring wired studio cans.

Diverse sound signatures.
Little need to be said about xm4s…the “smart phone” of headphones. With the built in app you can fiddle with so many options whether you feel energetic or calm. Its exciting. Wide stage or warm sound its all there. Better not give away the spoiler. You can’t go wrong with these cans unless you are a professional studio guy looking for something unique. I always wanted one and with the new price its a steal. One thing I felt its slightly bulkier than the bose qc45 but then the sound signature is unique to both. I use both of them depending on the mood. Bottoming…simplicity is Bose. Multiple Soundstage its Sony. Choice is yours.

Amazing product
So far the best headphone I ever owned. Better than Beats Solo, ENVEL Kotion, Energy Sistem, Razer BlackShark V2 Wired Esports THX 7.1,Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2 and SoundPEATS Trueshift2.Build quality and bluetooth connectivity is awesome.Cons:- Bass is not up to the mark as per my taste.- Ear cousins are not breathable. Sweaty after each use. Razer BlackShark V2 is best in breathable ear pad.- Battery died in 3 days after 14 to 16 hours but that was initial charge. I didn’t charge it yet. Will post review after my first charge.

Great headphones. Rips strands of hair out tho.
I love everything about these headphones except for the fact that they rip little bits of hair out every time I go to take them off. I am a woman and I wear my long hair in a ponytail when I have headphones on. When I bend them outwards a tiny bit to put them on or take them off, parts of my hair gets stuck in little grooves that form on the side. 🥴
