Runs out of Charge Too Quickly

This is a nice heavy duty hair straightener with lots of nice features and it works well on my short, medium thickness hair. The cordless feature is wonderful as I can straighten my hair in front of my bedroom mirror instead of the bathroom. My granddaughter on the other hand has very long thick hair and the charge runs out before she can finish her whole head. She gets around this by blow drying her hair straight first, but she feels rushed knowing she has a limited time to finish as it looses charge if on while plugged in.

Does a great job with straightening hair but battery dies quickly

I have several Dyson hair products and so far have loved them all. There are definitely pros and cons to this one..Pros:Heats up within secondsStraightens or curls your hairThe stand is very convenientCharges quicklyNo cord to plug in besides the chargerCons:Pulled at my hair a little bitDevice is a little heavyBattery dies within about 20 minutes so you do have the charge this after every useYou can charge this either by plugging the charger into the stand or by plugging it directly into the straightener itself. When you first get this, it will be in airplane mode and won’t turn off until you switch the knob over so just be mindful of that. I thought at first mine wasn’t working. This did straighten my hair in about half the time as it normally would have taken with a different straightener I have. Overall, I think this is a good straightener but I think you can get the same results with a straightener that’s a lot cheaper. If you want to splurge, I think this is a good option.

    Feels fancy!

My favorite part is that this hair straightener is cordless. So you no longer have to whip around a cord and get upset if the cord gets in the way. However if you don’t care for cordless or forget to charge it you can still use the straightener while it’s being plugged in.The straightener heats up pretty quickly, but I feel like most straighteners do heat up quickly now-a-days. So I wasn’t too shocked when it heated up as quickly as it did.The box is very fancy and modern looking. Would make for a good gift considering the packaging and the brand name. The brand really speaks volumes in this case.It does come with a heat resistant bag. For quick tossing of the straightener.Overall I was really impressed with the cordless option but other than that I wasn’t too blown away.

    Overhyped, Heavyyy

My hair type is quite fine, wavy, oily, armpit length, blonde highlights and LOTS of it.Pros: Cordless. I feel this makes it easier to make waves with the straightener. I can just get through my hair before the battery dies. Heats up quick.Cons: Heavy! This thing is about the weight of 3 regular straighteners. The charging cord is so bulky. It’s thick, heavy, has a big power pack in the middle of it and it’s longgg. Not shown in the pic is the power pack and how this thing wrapped all around my counter. This whole thing is just bulky. It does an okay job on my hair. I feel like there is a lot of resistance when it is ran through by hair, not a nice smooth glide.Honestly at this price tag i am not impressed. I think I will stick to my ghd with the cord at a 1/3 of the price, heats up quick, is smooth in my hair and I don’t have to worry about the ghd dying before I finish

    Awesome hair straightener!

This straightener is awesome! The aesthetic is pleasing and makes the straightener standout. The functionality is superb, and the quality of the craftsmanship is excellent. The materials are sturdy, and the straightener feels hefty, not flimsy like other models. The auto lock and shutoff feature are excellent for safety around pets and small children. I would highly recommend this straightener to anyone who loves to straighten their hair.

    Dont waste your money

Battery barely holds a charge. Also, the cord is magnetic so even if you wanted to use it while attached to the cord to hold the charge, its impossible to use it while plugged in. The magnet pops off instantly. After about a year, the battery wont hold a charge of any sort. Of course with it being out of warranty, they wont fix it either. They have ‘service centers’ but those are only for warranty claims and sales. You cant even pay to have it repaired if you wanted to. It also doesnt provide any less damage to my hair than a walmart straightener. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY

    Love it! ❤️

I love this hair tool! Grant it, it is expensive, but I’m glad it’s less damaging on the hair than others on the market. It heats up quickly, but loses charge in about 30 minutes if used without the plug in. That’s not bad since you can easily plug it in if the charge is running low. It has 3 settings: 330, 365 and 410. It beeps when it reaches the desired temperature. I keep it in the middle since I have thicker hair. My hair is quite coarse so the lower level does nothing for me. It’s a heavy tool compared to my last flat iron. I use this mostly to smooth out my hair after blowing it out. But the other day I was able to test its power when my hair turned into a frizzy mess after my workout. I only wash my hair once a week because it has a lot of damage from the last time I bleached it. Well I was pleasantly surprised how nice my hair looked with just this tool. It looked healthy and smooth. I really love this and look forward to using it for a long time!

    Elegant and efficient

Overall, I was really happy with the Corrale – it really delivers an elegant and efficient product. In terms of how it differs from other straighteners I have used, it has a design that is definitely a step above – right from the start, the packaging is just lovely and the straightener itself looks nice. It is also cordless and lasts quite a while on a single charge, so you don’t need to have it plugged in while using (a nice feature for flexibility). If you do forget to charge it, you can have it plugged in while using though. The screen is small but looks quite cool – it also makes it clear what the temp of the device is that you have selected (3 options) and when it is heated up (it dings and shows a checkmark). It also shows the battery level, and the power button light flashes until it is cooled down.Getting started right out of the box was so easy – there is little to no learning curve with this one, and it was very intuitive. First, out of the box, you need to switch from airplane to home mode, and there is a sticker on the device to tell you how to do so. It was easy to follow. The lock button slides up and down. Once unlocked, you just press the power button for a second, and the screen lights up. You can then push the + or – buttons to select a temp (3 options). It will heat up super quickly and give a ding and a checkmark when heated up. Then you are good to go!In terms of how it works, I found it like many of my other straighteners. I do need to use less pressure for this one though. While I didn’t need to do a hard squeeze, I definitely needed some pressure or it would not work. It was less than with other devices I use though. I’ve tried a few of the options after watching their videos. I have collar bone length hair that is somewhat fine, very straight, and so typically looks flat. I tried straightening my hair after it had dried in a messy bun, and this was very easy and worked well. The best style so far has been the C curls, as this just creates a beautiful result. It looked really great! I could also do a decent chunk of hair at a time for this style with my hair type. For the curls, it worked well! Although I have a hair type that should be able to use bigger chunks, it worked best when I took very small sections of hair. The curls look top notch, as good as I have ever gotten with straighteners. I like the way they look more natural/casual with a straightener vs curling iron, so this will probably be my go-to with this straightener. My hair is relatively short, especially the under sections, given that it is collar bone length all around. This means when I am using straighteners, I have a tendency to accidentally burn myself. I did not have that issue with this one – the outside definitely seemed to stay cool and it was easy to maneuver, so there were no mishaps. It also got a good grip on my hair to allow me to use from the root for curls, which was a particularly nice feature for short hair.Overall, I really love it, and it will definitely be my go-to straightener. Some of the features are definitely a step above (cordless, the appearance, ease of use), but in all, it works as well as any top of the line straightener.

    Faulty battery

After a few months, the battery life is about 10 minutes. Immediately after warranty, the straightener died completely and Dyson will not fix or replace it. They don’t even make parts for it. Absolutely not worth the cost.

Dyson won’t fix it after warranty is up — no solution

My straightener completely died after 2 years and 6 months. Warranty is only for 2 years and Dyson customer service stated as follows, “ I am sorry to hear that your machine is no longer performing as it should. In the case of our hair care machines, we do not have any out of warranty replacement options and a repair is not possible at this time for the Corrale”Honestly, why spend so much money on a product that is not able to be repaired.

    Deluxe Hair Straightener

This hair straightener is a deluxe hair straightener in a beautiful nickel/copper tone. It is wonderful and I like that it is cordless, but perhaps that is what makes it so heavy. The battery does last for a good while. It comes with a travel dock, magnetic charging cable, and a heat resistant travel pouch. I like the styling that it does and think it is an excellent unit, if one can get past the price and weight.

Rechargeable. Has airplane mode. Not for my type of hair

I ordered the Dyson Corrale™ Hair Straightener, and it’s just not for my type of hair. My hair tends to be very finicky, and it does not like many straighteners. I have very long, fine, and frizzy hair. It either has to be straightened or curled otherwise it looks like a damaged, frizzy mess. It just doesn’t feel smooth when I use it and actually if feels like it’s probably unhealthy for my hair as it slides sort of like it is scratchy and not nice and smooth. Essentially , it’s pulling on it and not a slick swipe like my regular straightener. It comes with a bag to keep it in, a charging cable, and the base to hold it. There is a lock inside near the base that you need to flip and turn to put it in airplane mode or when you want to use it. I like that feature to avoid problems. Then once it is on you have a couple modes on heat and it heats up quickly. I immediately noticed how heavy this is. It’s not just heavy, it’s extremely heavy. I’m sure the technology to be rechargeable requires it to be heavy, but I was surprised by that since it feels like four times as heavy as any others. The screen will tell you how much battery charge is left. It kind of seems like it goes through a charge quickly even with thin hair, but I’m sure it depends on your hair. If you are going to have really thick and have a lot of hair, it’s going to take you a long time. With my thin hair it is effortless. But like I said, I just don’t love this as it feels like I’m damaging my hair because it doesn’t feel smooth. You definitely can’t squeeze it hard, but just slightly it still pulls my hair. And if I let up too much then it’s not straightening it the best. But this is the main issue I find with straighteners, and that’s why I don’t like most of them. My hair is also incredibly color treated and just more delicate so I need something else. But this is definitely a luxury product, and having a rechargeable one is a really nice. You could be literally sitting in your car on a trip or anywhere, really, and are able to straighten your hair. If you show up at a date and are sitting in the parking lot noticing your hair is getting frizzy again, you can just pull it out and get it all ready. Basically, I will use my favorite straightener that feels smooth for full hair straightening, and if I am in a position to need a touch up, that’s where this will come in.

I wanted this to be a favorite

but it isn’t my go to flat iron unfortunately. The reason being that it is a little heavy, and I don’t feel like the plates grasp the hair as tight, leading to me doing extra passes over my hair. I love the cordless feature, and if you don’t have it charged, you can use it with the cord but it’s kind of bulky that way. I wish the stand was sturdier too. I really wanted to love this, but my titanium irons leave my hair much straighter. I think it would work best on someone with wavy hair that is not coarse, like mine is.

Highly engineered, pretty, but doesn’t work super well

Clearly well thought out, but a plain old flat iron seems to work better on hair. The cordless nature of it is super convenient, but not worth the annoyance and cost.

Great flat iron, but get it on deal

Prefacing to say I bought my Coralle directly through Dyson as a refurb and with a special sale, so I got mine for $200 and I’m very satisfied with it for that price. If you can find it for $250-$300 or less from a reputable seller so you know it’s an authentic product, I highly highly recommend it! For the regular $500, I’d be more hesitant to recommend. As far as the flat iron itself – I love it! I have mostly straight fine hair but SO MUCH of it, and I can easily get through my whole head straightening or curling on one charge, as long as I start out fully charged. The flexible plates take some getting used to, so definitely experiment with your section size to see what works best for your hair – I have to take larger sections than I’m used to with this. I can’t overstate how convenient the wireless mode is, especially for curling. It’s heavier than you’d expect because of the battery, but it’s well balanced so still feels good in your hand. Overall a really excellent product, but certainly overpriced.

Nice shine and straighten, quick dying battery

I have thick and long 3C hair and this was able to straighten it (after blow drying) very easily and quickly. It doesn’t work very long in unplugged mode so I’m not sure that’s even worth it to have on this product. But what’s worse is that it also quickly dies when it’s plugged in! The charging cable I guess doesn’t have enough power for it to be charged when used. It takes two hours to fully charge according to the manual so that seems a little silly to use it for a little bit wait two hours and then keep going but that is what I have to do to use it. For the price point, to me, that alone makes this not worth it. It does take much longer than normal to straighten my hair. Using this on hair that’s already dry, still takes longer than using any other straightener because of the battery issue.I also don’t like that there’s very little flexibility for temperature. My other straighteners have more than 3 temperature settings. This one has a fancy LED setting and +/- buttons but only three temperature options. I really wanted to like this but I couldn’t recommend something that’s so expensive and doesn’t make many improvements on traditional products. The only good thing I think is that it feels like my hair is less hot when using it, which is fantastic, but again not sure it’s worth it to pay this much when I could get the same thing with a blow dryer.

Nicest hair straightener I’ve ever owned

This hair straightener feels very heavy duty when you pick it up, and it’s a lot bigger than other ones I’ve tried in the past. I don’t usually straighten my hair — mostly because my hair is so curly and just tends to frizz up — but this tool actually straightened my hair and it stayed straight, which is amazing. I like that there is a stand to rest this one between hair sections, and I really like that you don’t have to keep it plugged in when you’re actually using it. The charger is a cool magnetic charger, which seems to work well. It is possible to use the straightener when it’s plugged in, and it was fine for straightening (since that’s just moving it up and down), but I could see how the looser connection could be a proiblem for curling hair.I didn’t notice a big difference in the plate shape or flexibility — again, I was just straigtening. I did notice that it heated up very quickly, stayed hot, and then made it really easy to use on my hair. Unlike other straighteners, I didn’t have to make several passes on each bit of hair, so it seemed to go pretty quickly.I also thought the velvety bag it came with was a nice touch that added to the expensive feel of this hair tool, and since I was worried about the Lithium Ion battery, it’s really cool that there is way to disconnect the battery and make it “flight-ready”. It was a little awkward to get the tag out and flip it — and it feels a lot weaker than everything else, so maybe not something to use constantly — but a nice way to make this product a bit safer. Time will tell if the battery continues to keep a charge, but hopefully this will last a long time.

    Expensive But Good Quality

Expensive But Good QualityThis is Dyson Corrale™ Hair Straightener. It was neatly packed, arrived fast, and absolutely lived up to my expectations. My first Dyson product is this one. It seems to have been well crafted. After using this, my hair was VERY smooth and glossy and it wasn’t hot to the touch as it was after using my regular flat iron. The technology is incredibly impressive, but it seems very pricey. Even while the machine itself is not particularly heavy to hold, styling your hair can be exhausting. It deserves 4.0 ⭐️Stars. I hope you find this review and video/pictures helpful. I don’t believe I would travel with it because of how huge it is. It becomes really heated. I usually use the low or medium setting, but since you can adjust the temperature and airflow, it’s not a big concern. Overall, this tool is functional.

    Beautiful product and lovely results

This is my first Dyson product and I should have done an unboxing because it’s definitely the most well presented and packaged hair tool that I have ever owned. I was surprised at how heavy it is, it’s VERY heavy…but it also appears to be very well made.I love the multiple charging options and that the charger is magnetic, so there’s no risk if you trip on the cord that it’ll take the device down with it. I really appreciate the bag for it as well, I have some higher end hair tools and almost none of them come with a bag for travel which is disappointing. And speaking of travel, this apparently has a lock on it that allows you to take it as a carryon. That being said, I would be worried that someone might not let this pass through, even with the airplane feature, and I definitely wouldn’t be leaving this behind if they don’t allow it on the plane.I let this charge for a while before I decided to use it. When I ordered this, somehow I thought it used air to straighten/curl the hair, but it really just is a fancy flat iron. I will say, my hair was SUPER soft and glossy after using this, and my hair wasn’t hot to the touch after like with my usual flat iron. This gives very soft waves that don’t necessarily last as long as I had hoped.Beautiful product and performance, I just wish the price was a little more reasonable.

    Very Nice

I have very curly hair that tends to be frizzy in our Missouri heat and humidity. I like to straighten or hot roll my hair when I want it to be smooth and more manageable.I love that this Dyson straightener does not cause as much damage as other brands.I also love the presentation. This straightener comes in a very nice, giftable box.The feature I love the most is the cordless option. What a game changer! No more fighting a cord when trying to straighten the back of my hair? Love it!I also love that this straightener is ready to go when I need it for a quick touch up.If you’re looking for a professional hair straightener, give this one a try.I hope this was helpful.

    Do not buy!

I own several Dyson products including the hair dryer, the Airwrap, and this Corrale straightener. And of course, two different vacuums. Because of my love for Dyson products, I even purchased another Corrale and Airwrap for my mom. Out of the three hair products, I do gravitate towards the straightener the most and use it daily. I contacted Dyson customer service several weeks ago as my straightener will not last more than 3 to 4 minutes with the device being fully charged overnight. Although I had explained to the customer rep about how this particular device was a replacement of my initial one due to the SAME EXACT issue, I was told to get it fixed through the Dyson service center. The representative also stated that I didn’t have any other options since I was not eligible for a replacement as the 2-year warranty expired a few months ago. I felt like he was quick to dismiss my concerns and my rant as he told me to go get it fixed through the service center, and that “they’ll know what to do.” I contacted and went to the service center and was told that the battery is not replaceable nor fixable. The rep from the service center told me that my only option was to purchase another straightener. I paid close to $500 for this straightener, and paid a hefty price so that I don’t have to replace the device—not after less than 3 years of usage. Thankfully, I was able to get the first replacement that allowed me to drag on the use of this straightener for two full years–but now, it may need to be tossed out as Dyson can’t resolve this for their devote customer. So, don’t be too quick to push that “add to cart” button because you may be the one to be complaining about this same issue down the road. Help yourself, and get something that’s priced reasonable off of Amazon as it may be far better and will last you much longer.Side Note:I initially submitted this same review to the Dyson website, and they will not post it as this review goes “against their policy…” So I am doing my very best to relay this to all the websites that sell this product so that you don’t waste your money!

    Love love love it!!

This straightener has changed how I style my hair!! It is so incredibly easy to use to create any look with any hair texture. It holds a charge for almost an hour wirelessly and works seamlessly. I would highly recommend watching a few videos on the Dyson website or YouTube to learn how to easily use this awesome device before venturing on your own. However, it is very easy to make curls, beach waves, and straighten dry hair on no time. I absolutely love it’s versatility!

I love it and it works very well for my hair styling needs

The media could not be loaded.

I was impressed with this hair straightener straight out the box. I will start by saying these are the features that I like most:- Presentation – it was wrapped lovely and ready to be given as a gift- Functionality – it heats up timely for my styling needs- Ergonomically designed – easy to hold and use- Sleek and modern design- Rechargeable and Cordless- Soft material travel case- Charging dock- Sturdiness- Durability- Safety power switch for airplane travel mode so that it does not power on while travelingI have never used a Dyson product and did not have any expectations. Most importantly, I used this hair straightener on my daughter’s mixed curly, yet fine hair and was immediately impressed – solely based on my experience with other brands of hair straighteners that did not straighten her hair as effortlessly as this one did – with 1 pass. I set the temp for 330 and it did a great job and I was also able to produce a loose body wave/spiral curl in her hair with this device. I am impressed with this hair straightener for all the reasons stated above as well as results achieved. It will be my go to for straightening and curling my daughter’s hair, my hair as well as my human hair wigs. Since it allows me to replace all other hair straighteners and some curlers I own and for the reasons stated above – it is a great value for the price. I highly recommend it.I am looking forward to it being available in smaller sizes to achieve other styling results as well!

    The Holy Grail!

This is the best flat iron have ever had! It is expensive and a little bit heavy. But, it does a great job on my hair. I can get close to my roots without burning my head. The outside part doesn’t get hot so you don’t burn your forehead, ears, et cetera.I heats up superfast and 1 pass straightens my hair. I love Dyson products and I feel that this is healthier for my hair than other flat irons I have used.Highly, highly recommended.

    Works great

Love this works great. I like the feature for airplane mode too when traveling. Heats up fast and easy to use . Pretty nice I’ve had some professional ones a this straightener ranks right up with those . All my husband says is “your 400 straightener “ 😂😂

    Amazing

I could not be happier with this hair styler!!! The absolute best I’ve ever had. I can straighten/style my hair in 5 minutes and I have long thick hair that used to take me forever to style. I can do so much with this. I love that it has the option to be cordless!! And I can travel easily with it. 100% recommend!!!!

    I want to love it…

I’ve heard so many good things about Dyson hair products and maybe my expectations were just too high… I don’t love this straightener. At all. First of all, it’s heavy. Second, it does not glide smoothly over my hair. It feels like it’s pulling and scratching through my hair. I was totally expecting this to glide right through. Third, the cord on this thing is BULKY! It’s worse than my laptop charger. Fourth, it dies super quick. If you have long, thick hair, that’s curly or wavy, it’s going to take 2 charges to finish. I gave it 2 stars because it does work. It will straighten your hair. I’m just disappointed in it.

    Nice product!

This straightener is very high quality and beautifully made! Came with a charging doc or you can plug it into the straightener itself. It was packaged beautifully, came in a beautiful velvet bag which can also be used as a hot pad to lay the straightener on while using it. Has an airplane mode when traveling and a home mode for when you are using it.

Love the straightener, but not sure end result is worth the price point

This is a tough product to rate – on the one hand there are several features that I really like and that I have not seen on many or even any other straighteners. I love the cordless functionality and how quickly the tool heats up. This combined with being able to plug the charging cord into the stand means that instead of putting everything away after each use, I now just leave the Corrale sitting in its dock most of the time, ready to use for quick touch ups. The convenience is superb, and even better because the dual voltage and airplane mode features mean I can literally take this anywhere, even overseas where the Dyson Supersonic and Airwrap can’t go…. This is one of the primary reasons I chose the Corrale – I wanted a convenient tool that could come with me when I travel overseas and generally don’t have a ton of hair care or styling products with me. Another big positive is that there is no singed smell when using the Corrale, which I have too believe is due to the technology. It also works, for me anyway, on even the lowest heat setting. The Corrale leaves my hair frizz free with a nice shine, and it usually takes minimal passes. I find the battery lasts plenty for me and that the cordless feature is well worth it. The Corrale feels solid and good in my hands, not at all too heavy. In all, the Corrale does a good job of straightening and curling, at least the loser types of waves I like to give my hair some body and bounce. But that’s where I run into trouble with the rating – the Corrale does a “good” job – the results don’t blow me away, they are just “good”. In fairness, they are achieved with all the convenience I just described, and with less heat and presumably less damage, but I don’t know that all justifies the incredibly high price. Ironically, part of my less than 100% satisfaction is influenced by my overwhelmingly positive experience with the Dyson Supersonic, which I consider a true game changer and worth every penny with respect to the results and the speed with which they can be achieved. Maybe the true advantages of the Corrale over other straighteners are the speed, convenience and lower heat with which good results can be achieved rather than the more obvious superior results you can get with the Dyson Supersonic over any other hair dryer I have tired. I don’t regret buying the Corrale but it is not a game changer for me the way the Supersonic is. I do like the Corrale, but If it broke tomorrow I would not necessarily miss the product, I would mostly be mad about the money I spent. If I broke the Supersonic, however, I would have to find a way to replace it right away – that’s just how much difference it has made to how I am able to dry and style my hair.

    It’s not that special

I was expecting something different from a typical $50 hair straightener but no, this hair straightener is just a wireless one with the dyson name on top of it. I was expecting some air technology or something from this straightener but no it’s like any old straightener. It’s good, like It straightened my hair well and my hair was done fast, but it’s still high heat… Great it does the job quickly but so does the $40 straightener i got from a different brand (granted, my wavy hair is relatively easy to straighten) i was pretty disappointed with this purchase. Definitely expected some more technology on this. Not worth the $$$$, maybe if it’s 50% off i’d recommend it due to the wireless feature, otherwise, not really worth it. Please do note that I can’t speak for those who have curlier, coarser hair, but if your hair is wavy and easy to straighten, this isn’t worth it IMHO. Gave it 3 cause it’s not bad it’s just not what i was expecting given that it’s advertised to do less heat damage. Due to that statement, again, I really was expecting some air technology. It’s just flex plates and wireless and they assume you can straighten in one pass thus using “less heat” due to not needing multiple passes .-.

Ok but not as nice as expected

I was excited to get this project. I expected it to be very high-quality and do a great job on my hair. It does a decent job on my hair no better or worse than others flat irons I have had. It does not hold a charge very long, and the docking station that came with it does not charge it, so I don’t understand what the docking station is for.

    Worth every penny.

This is crazy expensive but if you flat iron your hair daily and/or go to salon weekly, this paid my $ back in a month. Being cordless is great, and not having any heat on your scalp is also great. I have the same iron as my stylist- Paul Mitchell, Neuro, and this is 100x better. If you flat iron daily, it’s worth it. After my cats, in a fire, I will grab this.

    Not worth the money

I got this as a gift from my husband. Sadly, I like my Paul Mitchell flat iron better. The only thing I like better about this one is that it is cordless. I gave it some time but it really doesn’t style my hair very nicely. For the price, it really is a disappointment. Unfortunately I’m past the time period that I can return it now.

doesn’t work poor service and poor charging.

Doesn’t straighten hair well. Needs to charge over 60 minutes to use. When informed dyson of these issues I waited on hold over 30 minutes as was told it doesn’t straighten well so it doesn’t damage hair and that I should just leave on the counter top all the time to charge. Knowing this I never would have bought but missed return by 2 days and am stuck with it. Dyson nor Amazon won’t return it. $200 off for something that doesn’t work and is an eye sore on a countertop is no bargain.

Do not waste your time or money!!!

I was going to keep this regardless if it didn’t work as well as my $30 Remington but it is that bad that I had to return. It pulls your hair unless your straightening 3 hairs at a time. It’s heavy. It dies in 10 minutes. Bad bad bad. It is the cutest looking hair straightener I have seen but it is not worth $500. It is not even worth $100. I’m sorry Dyson but you should pull this one.

Very expensive piece of junk. Doesn’t straighten or smooth nearly as well as inexpensive irons. Not less damaging to my hair either. I’ve had it for a few weeks now and am about to give it away. Don’t waste your money!

    Not your best, Dyson

I was excited to receive this Dyson Hair Straightener and have the opportunity to try it out. I like that it’s rechargeable and I don’t have to deal with a cord and that the plates flex allowing you to use on larger/thicker sections of hair. But after using this a few times, I’m left disappointed.PROS:-Rechargeable, no cord to deal with and comes with both a stand to set the device in for charging and a magnetic cord, so either cane be used.-Heats quickly-Plates flex to allow for use with thicker sections of hair-Can be used for straightening and curlingCONS:-Needs recharged frequently. I’m either slow or my hair just takes longer to style, but I’ve had to recharge this when styling my hair because it drains fairly quickly-Auto Shut-off: This can be a pro in case one forgets to shut off the device after done styling, but this thing make a warning beep after a few minutes of not using and then a couple minutes later it shuts off. It’s inconvenient when I’m trying to help kids get ready in the morning and every time I step away for a few minutes, I come back to find it shut off and I have to turn back on and wait for it to heat up again. Although, with how quickly the battery drains, this is probably necessary to help save battery power. Still I find it frustrating.-While the flexing plates is nice for thicker sections of hair, I found my hair getting caught in side gaps of the plate that allow it to flex. If my hair isn’t completely smooth, it grabs the hairs and breaks them off as I slide the straightener down the section of hair.-Doesn’t do that well as a curler. The rounded shape makes it easy to wrap the hair around, but I tried a few of the techniques for using straighteners as hair curls or making waves and they did not work that well with this. plus, more issues of the previous point with the hair getting caught and breaking.- The price!!! for three hundred ninety-nine US dollars for a hair straightener that’s not that great, the cost is way over-priced.Overall, this Dyson Hair Straightener is not worth purchasing at all. Save your money and spend on better things. I thought the Dyson name, this would be great, but I’ve owned thirty dollar straighteners that are much better than this product. And all the pros are not even close to making this worth the cost.

Hair seems to do better with this one vs my old flat iron. EDIT: PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE.

Probably the fanciest hair straightener I’ve ever owned. Came wrapped up all pretty with a velvet carry case. When you first open it it’s in airplane mode – you can switch it to regular mode by turning around a little tab, pointed out to you by little stickers. It can be locked closed for travel by sliding up and down a little lock tab. It comes with a stand which has a magnetic connector like the power cord, but as far as I can tell it does NOT charge the straightener, it’s a stand and nothing more. The power cord, as stated, has a magnetic connection to the straightener rather than a plug. The plates, as described, are flexible – they aren’t like individual hard plates that will pinch your hair though. It looks like one solid plate, but it’s soft enough to bend around your hair. Just don’t squeeze it too hard (so says the instructions, anyway)This heats up FAST. Like turn it on and it’s ~30 seconds from room temperature to the highest temperature, and the screen shows you progress as it heats up. You use it like any other flat iron (though it is a bit heavier). My hair turns out smoother and less frizzy with this flat iron compared to my old one – and it’s rare for anti-frizz things to actually do anything to tame my indomitable head-dwelling frizzbeast, so that’s a high compliment! When you turn it off, the power button stays red/orange while the straightener is still hot, and shuts off once it cools off a bit. I leave it open while it’s hot/cooling down so the heat dissipates easier. My only real gripe, I think, is the magnetic charger. The cordless option is great, it makes the straightener easier to maneuver around my head. But the battery life is only ~30 minutes, not long enough for hair that’s both thick, long, and difficult to style (like mine), and after that you have to plug it in. You can operate it while plugged in, but the magnet isn’t very strong and the cord tends to fall off (but on the plus side, there’s no chance of my cat knocking this off the counter by pulling at the cord). It’s mostly an annoyance, but this could benefit from a stronger magnet or another way of securing the cord in place so it doesn’t fall out. Either way, I love it and am glad to have it. Thank you very much!EDIT: So, I noticed something this morning while using this plugged in. When it’s on, the battery continues to drain even when the plug is in, though it says it’s charging. That means the rate of discharge is higher than what the power cord supplies. Without the battery, you likely won’t be able to use it plugged in because the cord won’t supply enough power. The battery is integrated and you can’t replace it yourself, so once that battery wears out (and it’s Li ion so it WILL), you’d have to send it in to Dyson to have it replaced. They will do this free of charge as part of the 12 month warranty, but once that warranty ends or they decide they no longer support the Corrale? That’s it. It’s done. It becomes irreparable waste you have to bring/send in for special disposal because of the Li ion battery. Removed two stars because I don’t support planned obsolescence, especially on such an expensive product, and I WILL NOT buy another when this one fails. Corded straighteners for me from then on.
