    Decent Projector… Untrusted Seller

TL;DR: No issues with the product itself, however, a unit sold as new turned out to be refurbished, hence the low score.Despite purchasing this as brand new, I received a clearly used/returned unit. The seals had been peeled off and re-applied (badly, as they were crumpled up and barely clung for dear life). The inner packaging was in even worse condition, with the accessory bags having been opened by either a very impatient customer, or The Wolverine. The bottom line is that the seller cannot be trusted to provide a new unit, despite asking for a new unit price.Regarding the unit itself, despite the shaky start, it features several positives:- Streaming services, Netflix in particular, work out of the box- Picture is solid enough and does not have ‘Motion Plus’ pre-activated with no means to switch it off, the frames per second are on point and films won’t look like they were shot on a mobile phone.- Brightness is advertised at 400 ansi lumen and it appears correct. Manual brightness control is available, but you need to override eco mode. With the curtains closed, the picture is fine.- The sound also has a lot more punch than I was expecting, especially for a unit this small. The neutral points are:- At maximum brightness, battery life is reduced to 1 hour, so don’t start Infinity War unless you have a plug nearby.- The auto keystone correction is not perfect but the manual controls allow you to sort this out without fuss.- The OS is zippy, as long as you allow it half a minute to boot and settle. Switching between apps is also nice and easy.Nice to have: the handle on top allows the unit to be carried around the house easily keeping it fingerprint-free.Overall, I’m happy with the unit. Not the best brightness but at this price, finding one with Netflix working plus other quality-of-life features is quite difficult. That said, I will not buy from this seller again. Did I mention that the seller is the manufacturer, Anker?

Fantastic portable projector with Netflix built in

I’m a bit of a projector nerd, having owned several different makes and models over the years. I’ve owned all the Nebula Capsule models but, apart from the Capsule 3, I’ve never found them to be bright enough and, of course, none except the 3 had fhd.I purchased the Mars 3 (do not confuse this with the Mars 3 Air that this review is covering) and loved it because of its brightness, full HD and the sound. But it is a hulking brute of a projector and still had no native support for Netflix.Soooo.. what about the Mars 3 Air? Well, I love this too. Its small, light and totally portable. At 400 lumens it is bright enough for me to get a 120ins picture on my wall in darkness or very low lighting conditions and the image look incredible In full HD. The sound coming from dual 8w speakers really surprised me. It was loud and had plenty of deepness to it which I didn’t expect without a subwoofer. As usual, the battery claims of 2.5hrs runtime are perhaps a little optimistic and rely upon the battery being set to eco mode which reduces the brightness somewhat and I’d have preferred USB-C charging so a power bank could be added but, all in all, this is a great addition to the Anker projector factory and my favourite one yet.

how does this actually work and other issues

I have now been attempting to get this to actually play ANYTHING for over an hour.Nowhere does it say on amazon product details that you have to sign up and give all your details PLUS it wants to engage with every other online device in my flat.Had the details of the product admitted it wanted to spy on me I wold never have purchased itIt took so long to sort this projector out so if we get it to work it used up on the path from the fully charged battery and then I had to plug it into the mains and mess around with it for another hour before arcade eventually get a picture.

As you can see from the pictures the projector is defective the left half of the screen is more bright than the left one

    Nebula projectors are good

I love projectors and after so many research when i bought it .. it delivered on time .. appearance and holding in hand was good .. battery wise it was good and very easy for setting it up ..image quality and sound was great.. only problem i faced like when a little movement happens it kept going on adjustment and for this u must need a tripod and a steady place where it doesnt move .. capsule 3 the way it was advertised like holding in hand and watch but with this if a little movement happens it straight go to adjustment and you lose the excitement of warching something u are into it.. another problem i faced and for that reason i returned my item at the moment because in my nebula.. disney plus.. bbc player .. itv player was not working and kept giving problem saying region problem .. i am in UK and in my region these apps are working but mine projector was not working and contacted Nebula too so due to that reason i had to return my product but if someone projector is supporting all these apps .. you will love using this projector.. but u will need a tripod or a place where it does not move..i will recommend to try and buy

Solid portable projector for the price

This was a little bit of a stab in the dark as I was looking for a small portable projector for the bedrooms and the mars 3 air had just come out and had no real reviews yet. I was first tempted by the Samsung Freestyle 2, but a lot of reviewers noted that for its price (~£700) it wasn’t that good a projector. IIRC it only goes up to 240 lumens. But it had good apps and connectivity, so it was hard to find something with a similar feature set but cheaper. The Mars 3 was generally recommended as an alternative, but that’s a similar price point to the Freestyle for a bulkier, brighter protector that’s better for outdoor use, which I don’t care about that much. That’s where the Mars 3 Air came in – at £450 it’s much cheaper than the freestyle, almost twice as bright, and has excellent connectivity and app support, with even native Netflix, which the more expensive Mars did not have. Some things to watch out for – first time set up is a bit slow, confusing and clunky. Google Home setup via the app is pretty okay, but it took a *long* time to download and install firmware updates. Once it was up and running, it still behaved weirdly, e.g. I could not access the settings menu, or sign in to YouTube, or download new apps at all at first. The trick seems to have been to reboot it several more times. Once fully set up it all works as expected. The auto keystone features and auto focus in my experience aren’t great – they’re a good starting point, but at least in my space, I usually do need to go in and manually adjust them. If this is the case for you, I would recommend turning off auto keystone and auto focus on startup and after movement, so you don’t have to recalibrate every time you nudge it or turn it off.Overall though I think it’s a really good deal for the price – responsive UI, very solid brightness and colours, great sound. Connectivity and apps all work fantastically, and having Netflix natively on the device is great! You can also Chromecast easily from a laptop or phone. Expect a bit of faff during first time setup, but after that it’s a really solid device!

    Eccellente

    My first projector – perfect

After reading numerous feedback and reviews, I decided to purchase this portable projector. First impressions: it’s very well-built and truly portable. Setting it up was easy – just add a Google account, download updates, and it’s ready to go. The keystone correction works well in most situations, and manual correction is also available. Despite my initial concerns about brightness, I found it to be more than sufficient in the darkness. The image quality is truly impressive. Overall, I believe this portable gadget is worth the investment, and I’m satisfied with the product.

The product overall had a lot of issues

I used this projector for almost about a month. The setup was quite easy, Netflix was preloaded and the the picture quality was good. The major issue was with the software stability. A lot of issues with volume levels and multiple times had to reset in one month. Finally decided to return the projector

    Clear evidence damage and pre-use

The projector had clearly been pre-used! Batteries loose in the box, no protection on projector, scratches on the casing, ripped plastic accessory bags and no security tag on the main box. Very disappointing for a product of this value – first and last time I will buy a high value electronic product online.

    Excellent performances

The device is really well built, solid and easy to use.The image, even if not 4k, looks bright and crisp; another positive point is the noise from the fan which I expected to be louder and instead is surprisingly moderate.Google TV software is very usable and is like having a smart tv in the projector.Streaming from iOS device is good as well the connection to extrernal BT speakers or headsets. It can be used also in moderately lit environments (maybe not in daylight)Indeed a recommended purchase.

Good an practical gadget to turn your living room into a home cinema

I am very happy with the projector. It is small, robust, you can carry it around, place it on a chair and it just works. I typically set the screen size to about 2.5m. My kids take it to their room and they make a little cinema with a screen 2m wide. Two things:1) it is bright, but not as bright as the projector you would use in a business meeting or teaching. To get a good experience, you need to darken the room. Bright pictures and Nintendo can tolerate some ambient light. But movies require darkness to look good. If you think of buying one, don’t throw away your TV just yet. Admittedly, I don’t have a screen and I am using my white wall as screen.2) Sound is ok but a bit disappointing. Some reviewers say you can use the product as a pure speaker. No way. I have a tiny Bose speaker and the difference is noticeable. In fact, i watch film by connecting to the Bose speaker with Bluetooth (or to headphones). I would have payed another 100 euros to have Bose quality speakers in the product.I still give the product five stars, because I am happy, I have recommended the product and I would buy it a again.

    Good software but bad image

Positive points: easy installation, quiet, Google TV provides all available streaming services and is fast. It has Chromecast integrated. I connected it to my JBL speaker via bluetooth and had no audio delay. Negative points: 400 Lumens are not enough to display very dark scenes effectively. Even in a completely dark room, there is a lack of brightness to see the details in very dark scenes. The battery also does not last long, to have 2 hours of movie, the brightness needs to be at 20% (Eco mode).

    Nebula Anker Mars air 3

Sicuramente consigliato.

    Great projector for beginners!

This is my first projector so I am by no means an expert. But as someone who is not a “pro” projector user, this projector is great for home use. I was looking for an alternative to a new TV and this Nebula projector has been great to use. I typically use it mounted on a camera tripod and move it between a couple different rooms projected on white walls.Pros:-Bright enough for a dark rooms and great HD picture quality.-Quick auto focus and auto keystone which allows for versatile placement angles and easy set up anywhere-Google TV User Interface is pretty good. No major lags, smooth navigation-Backlit remote (although not all buttons are backlit)-The built-in speaker sound is pretty good. You get good audio quality even from 2-3m away.-The projector has Apple AirPlay via a built-in Nebula appCons:-No Bluetooth audio out for headphones or even bluetooth streaming to a soundbar. Maybe there could come with a future software update. However, I have since separately purchased a bluetooth adaptor using the 3.5mm audio out port and this has been a good workaround (see picture)-The projector has 4 LEDs at the top to indicate battery life, but it’s not easily viewable in the software (it’s hidden in menus). I don’t use battery mode often, so this isn’t a deal braeker.-The DC power cord and power brick is proprietary (I wish it was USB-C) and it’s a bit cumbersome to move this around, sometimes it pulls on the projector when I have it on a tripod. Minor inconvenience, not a deal breaker.-Autofocus and auto keystone is great, but if you are viewing in a darker room where the projector is off to an angle, you will see “light bleed” for the non-projected picture area when (see pictures). Not a deal breaker, just something to get used to.Overall, I’m really happy with this projector after using it for the past few weeks.

    Excellent portable projector

I was very undecided on this projector as it was my first dive in to the projector world, I had actually ordered a smaller cheaper (same brand) projector to begin with and was very underwhelmed and the item was quickly returned and replaced with the Mars 3, wow what a difference, once setup I really cannot fault this projector, google TV is far better than the android operating system that 90% of other projectors appear to be using, the auto keystone makes it a breeze to setup in different rooms/walls etc and the sound amazed me to be honest, I did not expect it to be half as good as it actually is, don’t get me wrong it’s not a full on cinematic experience but superior to most standard TV speakers and actually creates quite an immersive experience when the projector is behind you.I regularly use this item and the family love cinema night, although the image will go to 150” I’m regularly projecting at 120” which seems to be the sweet spot. I’m also using for work meetings to do presentations, it’s so easily portable (buy a case though), brilliant all rounder highly recommend.Very impressed with this product, well worth the money.

    Very clear

This projector is the beat one I have had yet, I’ve used multiple and this one by far is the clearest and best overall one I’ve owned. Before this one I used the smaller version of this one and that was good enough, to be able to try this one and use is incredible. It’s well built, very easy to use and sync upto my devices to display the image. Highly recommend

    TV-quality but portable.

I haven’t always relied on a TV as my lifestyle is quite on the move but I love watching movies and streaming. I’m just not always in my living room. This is where a projector becomes my best friend. It’s almost like I can carry a TV wherever I am, without the fuss of cables and fragile screens. This mini projector is a beast. The setup was super easy, user friendly, and took a couple of minutes for it to get up and running after an update. The auto focus was a bit fiddly and I preferred to manually do it, but I’ve had said issues elsewhere so I wasn’t at all surprised. Picture quality is crisp, bright and just as impressive as a high-end TV. The sound quality is great too. I was surprised at the amount of bass I was able to get even without having a speaker connected.Battery life of 2.5 hours is slightly optimistic. Perhaps feasible when on eco mode which lowers the picture quality slightly, but this hasn’t been a deal breaker for me.It’s portability lives up to the name and it’s possibly one of the smallest projectors I’ve seen with this picture quality. Definitely worth the money and I’d be happy to recommend.

    Just amazing

This item is just amazing. I have had a projector made by nebula before and it was outstanding the one I had was a one for home it was wired and not portable. As soon as I seen this one I knew I needed it. This is the Nebula Anker Mars 3 Air 1080 mini projector and I cannot tell you enough how amazing this is. At the time of purchase this was £559 but this is well worth the price. This item is portable and can be taken anywhere you want it to be taken, it is great for your bedroom, for camping, sleepovers it is endless on what you can do with this projector. It is small yet powerful it comes with a sturdy durable handle on the top of it so it is easy for you to carry it without dropping it or damaging it. It is super easy to set up and the instructions are very clear to read. It is so bright the image is as good as a high quality TV if not better than a TV due to it’s 400 lumens. You can even watch it when it is light outside it is that good the quality is crystal clear and colours are outstanding. It has a 2.5 Hr play back which is more than enough time for a movie or if you want to listen to music this is upto 8 hours play time. It comes with Dolby audio so the audio is intense and clear it is so good honestly the list could go on with how amazing this is. It comes with multiple extras such as google, netflix the list is endlessOverall this is an outstanding projector I cannot wait to take this camping this will be so fun. It is amazing quality and I think the price is very reasonable I am so happy with it. If you can afford one I highly recommend it.

    Fantastic Projector

I have quite a bit of experience with projectors, I currently own a 4k Laser and a regular 1080p projector. This despite being a quarter of the size of the 1080p one is much, much better picture quality. I know it’s easy to think “well, 1080p is 1080p” but that’s just not the case as there’s always a lot of variables that create a better (or worse) picture. The set up of this device is pretty simple, I didn’t open the manual and it was very much straight forward. It does want you to have Google TV and to be honest, while you can use it without it, it is much better that you do have an account (it’s free and you’ll need it for all the apps like Netflix, iPlayer etc). On first boot it requires a small update of around 800-900MB, however, this took a very long time despite having fast internet. I think it took at least 10 minutes, which did originally concern me on how fast the Wi-fi is but I believe it was just unpacking and installing files as once done everything was fast and snappy.I love the fact it’s portable and it truly lives up to the name. It is battery powered and can be carried around and just placed where you want it unplugged. Battery isn’t very long, you’re looking at around 2 and a half hours but that should be more than enough for a film, a great device to take with you camping! The sound is fantastic for its size, there’s a lot of bass and you can really feel it, it makes for a fantastic cinematic experience. I have no complaints about the sound at all.The projection automatically levels itself as well which is brilliant. If I had to nit-pick however, setting the screen is incredibly easy but I found increasing the size is slow, a small little notch at each button press. However, there’s possibly an easier way to do it as I like to test things without the manual to see how user intuitive it is.I have seen some complaints asking how it works, it works exactly as a projector works. I don’t think it’s fair to take it out on the device because people don’t understand it. It’s not a TV, you need to project something! However, despite this not being a TV it’s actually closer to one than a lot of others with the smart features, being able to use apps like Netflix, Prime, Youtube etc right out of the box. Again, you’ll need a (free) google account which takes a couple of minutes. You have an HDMI and USB port so you can connect other devices to it like a Switch, console etc.Being a projector it does require a darker room, although even with the curtains open on a grey day the picture was very good.Personally, I think this is an absolute fantastic piece of kit, it offers you a lot in a very small size.At £549.99 it’s not a cheap price if you don’t know what you’re getting, but I think the price is actually very reasonable and offers everything you’d need from a projector and more! Giving you everything a standard one will while being portable and battery powered. There’s also currently a £100 voucher giving a whopping discount making this a fantastic purchase and in my humble opinion, one of the best Tech devices of 2023.
