It appealed as I’m not a great fan of tablets. I wanted it to work but this is textbook ‘failed product’It seems those who created it never thought people would actually use it.Ground Zero:The screen is really really really awful, way worse than publicity material suggests.All promotional images show a simulated screen, not the real one.The screen has the resolution of a biscuit.It comes with apps. I set up e-mail and twitter. As an app e-mail looked promising.The apps and phone would be usable if body text was legible. It’s not.The phone has been criticised for being slow. It is but the astonishingly poor screen is my deal breaker.And, you can only temporarily import contacts, they all disappear the moment you log out of gmail.Remove the apps, sell it as a basic phone or provide a screen that does the job.This phone won an iF DESIGN award… ..in the designed to fail category, perhaps?[update]I actually ended up using this quite a bit and in some ways it’s redeemed itself by being even more frustrating.The apps don’t get a better with use. I have a mail account that I need and it is workable. The phone is in fact very useful as a mail checker. I have not sent one e-mail. I also use the twitter and the browser and the txt thingies with various degrees of success. Cruft apps are impossible to uninstall.Text is still unreadable because of the corn-sized pixels. You really really cannot see some text.If you just need notifications then this phone works as well as any other. I found data and 4G to be fast.The phone does not shut straight and I have had phone conversations that were difficult to understand but the fault is more likely to be the networks..

Great little phone that does everything it says on the tin
I’m really happy with this little Nokia Flip. I looked long and hard for a halfway house between a smartphone and a dumbphone and for me this is it. It has enough access to the internet and modern apps (if you want them) to make it a useful device. I tried the cheaper phones and it really was like stepping back in time 20 years, but not with the Nokia!What’s also great is that the KaiOS is developing all the time and more apps are becoming available. You can totally uninstall things like Whatsapp, which was important for me, and I have enough internet access to easily use it in a pinch.If you are looking for a digital detox, this phone is perfect for the job – I have charged it once and after 2 days its still at 80%, which is pretty impressive compared to my old Samsung.

Battery life is terrible
I woud have to agree with other comments about battery life. I barely use my phone and yet I am charging up practically everyday…..not because the battery dies completely but because the battery drains so fast I just don’t want to get caught out. I may look into a better battery. The battery on my iphone 6s lasted longer than this and that was with all the browsing and scrolling I did. However, I’ve seen some other nice ‘dumphones’ coming on line I might eventually abandon this phone and try another one.As an escape from Smartphones though, it is a nice little phone to use. It does what it says on the box. And for those who are trying to give up internet use….this is so tiny and slow, the frustration will cure you of your addiction in no time.

An old school feature phone with modern capabilities.
Simple to use, easy to set up and with good battery life. It’s not a smart phone and should not be compared to one. You’re not going to get a colour accurate screen or gaming performance on par with a desktop pc of 10 – 15 years ago. What it offers is a solid phone that can also at a stretch do browsing and many common social media outlets. For those addicted to their smartphone, this may offer a path to wellness, for older or less tech savy people, this offers enhanced access to the world in a more familiar form factor.

Data connection bug!
The phone itself is well-built. Easy to flip open single-handed and a satisfying snap shut to close. The screen is not very sharp. However, there is a major issue with the phone’s software. I purchased this phone explicitly for calls and text messages and not for using the internet. The phone somehow connects to the internet using data even when the data connection has been turned off. On PAYG, this has meant that my airtime has twice depleted from £20 to £1 over the course of a week. Even changing the APN setting to “dummy” variables, the phone somehow overrides this and still connects using data. Do not buy if you are using a PAYG sim. Fine with sim-only if you have a data allowance.I should also add that there was a problem with dispatch from Amazon. I was expecting the phone on a Tuesday, received a dispatch email on the Monday and then on Tuesday late in the afternoon, I received an email stating the phone was delayed with no explanation given. I used Live Chat and was informed that the parcel would be delivered on Thursday guaranteed. It was not. I contacted Live Chat again and they said they would send a replacement asap but still did not give a reason for the delay. During this time, the price of the phone dropped by £10. I could have cancelled the initial order and ordered again at the lower price. I did not as a I was expecting the phone to be delivered on time, twice. This is the first time I have ever encountered a problem with Amazon. Disappointing.

Great phone for those getting away from smartphones
I bought this phone to detox from the internet and get off my smartphone. Smartphones are excellent devices with almost everything you could ever want but I felt like I was addicted and wanted to reduce my usage. To put this review in perspective, my previous phone was an iPhone XS on the EE network. I ordered a replacement SIM for the new phone.I wanted a phone that had all the essentials, but didn’t offer an “easy” way to browse the web or spend a huge amount on social media or any other apps. This phone so far is perfect for what I need. Here are some general points:- It is impossible to browse the web endlessly on this phone or spend time on social media. The browsing experience is really like the olden days where you have a tiny screen and typing takes forever. This is perfect. You cannot spend your day mindlessly on your phone. It is just too inconvenient to use daily, but useable enough for when you *really* need it in a pinch. The same applies to all the social media apps on it (e.g. Twitter/Facebook), you can’t browse them easily- It supports bluetooth audio, so you can hook up modern bluetooth headsets to it and it will just work. I paired my phone with a Jabra Elite 65t headset and it worked without any hitches. So you can still walk around outside and listen to podcasts, audiobooks, or music. If you use your phone at the gym to listen to music, you can do it with this (you might get some funny looks for having a flip phone though)- It has Whatsapp and Google Maps. Two very essential apps for the modern age! I had both of them setup with no problems. Unfortunately, Whatsapp did not have desktop app support (you can’t use Whatsapp Desktop to sync with your phone). Google maps was OK to use and has directions support, so it can take you along a route – walking or driving.- It has all the basic essentials, like a timer, a gallery, a still/video camera, calculator, e-mail, etc. Anything you would expect to be pre-installed on a phone.- It supports 4G, so data access will be really fast.- It has an app store with some additional good stuff. Things like to-do apps, notes, radio, etc. The selection is very limited though and there are not many “official” apps from big companies.Full list of “big name” apps: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Whatsapp, Google MapsI highly recommend this phone if you are trying to get away from smartphones but want to have all the essentials that you sort of need these days.

Lo envié a repararlo, y me dijeron que tras chequearlo todas las funciones estaban bien. Pero sigue sin tener manera de acitvar el whasapp. Si no te importa no tener whasapp, puede servir

Turning back time
I’ve had an iPhone 8 since around the launch period and the battery life isn’t what it used to be. I have to take a battery pack to work and that means two devices to charge the night before. So, I decided to try going back to a feature phone rather than get a new iPhone or even a new battery.I wanted one which had a lot of the features of the iPhone that I use, which means Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, email, WhatsApp, web browser and a music player. This phone fits the bill.There’s no getting around the fact that going back to a feature phone is a huge compromise. Everything is slower and more cumbersome to do. But I evaluated my iPhone usage and as long as I can make or receive calls and listen to music on a Bluetooth headset I’m okay. On the rare occasions I need to use satnav I will put the SIM card back in the iPhone for the day.The plus points are the size of the device when it’s folded. It’s fairly thick but it has a small footprint, which is nice. It fits nicely in the palm and the volume buttons are easily accessible without taking it out of my pocket when listening to music. The battery life is also prodigious, if you obey some rules which I will get to soon, as they are a bit of a negative. I think the Nokia website says 20 days standby, which is amazing. Factor in actually using the device and it will drop, but if I can get a week out of it before needing to recharge it will change my life. And it has email, internet, WhatsApp and Google maps, so it doesn’t feel like you’re cut off from the outside world just because you have a feature phone. Overall, it does what it should well and gets you by with the other things.Now the negatives. The long battery life is only achievable if you have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switched off. This obviously means you have to activate them before use. Compromise, remember? Another thing is how cumbersome a number pad is after using an iPhone for so long. I will get used to it but for now it’s a learning process. Bluetooth in the car is different too, because the phone doesn’t support phone book or call history downloading to the car, so to get a number in there I had to use the car’s voice dial and have the number appear in the car’s call history that way. I don’t know if it will still be there next time I use the car. But it’s no problem to use voice dial as there are only two people I would possibly call while driving. Most of the time they would call me.So far I’m enjoying the iPhone detox and by the time this phone needs replacing, who knows what fancy iPhone will be available?

I hate smartphones but need Whatsapp to communicate with my family. The fact that this phone allows me to do so without wrecking my brain by providing constant internet access is a godsend. My IQ has risen 11 points since I bought this. Never again will I become reliant on a mind destroying 500$ device that needs to be replaced every year.

“Hai una faccia che ho già visto” è quello che diresti guardando questo telefono dal vivo.Eccellente evoluzione di un vecchio classico, pulito ed elegante nella forma, è un telefono che fa una bella figura senza apparire il “triciclo per vecchietti” di altri competitor.Ho scoperto con piacere che KaiOs funziona come si deve, fa il suo e lo fa bene. Purtroppo in qualche giorno la batteria è arrivata al 57%, e credo di riuscire a coprire l’intera settimana. Di sicuro non dura i 28 giorni dichiarati, ma una decina con un uso leggeeo ed una settimana di uso standard non sono comunque affatto male.Ha le app, vera virtù di questo telefono, che porta su un telefono vero le applicazioni in maniera efficace. Certo, non andremo oltre quelle social e di messaggistica…..però vanno, e sono contento.La sensazione generale è quella di un buon prodotto, fatto bene, elegante e resistente.Peccato il prezzo: con 10€ di più si trovano già gli smartphone basilari, anche se parliamo di prodotti diversi. Per me un prezzo onesto sarebbe intorno alle 75€, massimo 80€.Poi per esigenze particolari, vanno bene anche quelle 20€ di più che servono per aggiudicarselo.Poi ha le chicche che stupiscono:Assistente google a bordo.Store KaiOs.Jack per le cuffie.Non mi sognerei mai di metterci un editor di testi ma………sinceramente è un terminale che mi sento di consigliare, nonostante le sue ombre.Consigliato a persone anziane ma dinamiche e a persone non “addicted” della tecnologia, ma che non disprezzano di restare in contatto sui social.

This is a fairly new (2019) retro flip launch from Nokia. I was expecting better with their experience.Actually it is made for HMD who now use the NOKIA name under licence. Both are FINNISH companies.The NOKIA 2720 is made in VIETNAM.1.. The screen is a good size, 2.8 in, but the text size does not make full use of the space.2.. The search function is ponderously slow.3.. The flip opening is testing one-handed, because the sides are made flush.4.. The back is high-gloss which is both slippery in the hand and on the table..But, don’t accept my word. Look at the DORO 7060 flip-phone. Also from Scandinavia, SWEDEN.They have been perfecting the flip breed for years. NONE of the above shortcomings apply there..Nokia, I am disappointed. How can “experts” so badly misfire ?And how can the 2720 be lauded with an award this year ? Very fishy.Should do better with the Mk.2 version. Please.3 stars..

I was getting fed up and to be honest a little bored with the modern smartphone offerings, always wanting permission for this or review that. Its like modern iOS and Android was like having a needy small child in your pocket begging for attention. This Nokia has no way the amount of features as a smartphone but it’s not trying to be one.There are cut down versions of Whats app, Google maps and Facebook altered to work with a small screen and keys and it can work as a hotspot too if you want to connect a tablet or computer.Battery life I found to be very good at five days and with the wifi turned on as well. The construction is just basic plastic just like the phones of old but it’s pretty cheap so I wouldn’t expect otherwise. What was a nice surprise was on how much space I had left in my pocket as its smaller than what I have been used to.All in all a great little phone with a good battery life. It would make a good phone to either escape the smart phones or to use on camping trips etc where you need a degree of connection but won’t have the worry about a flat battery every day. Don’t expect it to be a smartphone as it’s not.

Looks nice but very slow…
For those who like old fashioned flip phones this one looks great, very smart! Some ideas in the menu are great some are not same as any other phone. I personally don’t think this phone should have that very basic Facebook or YouTube – smartphones are for that.It’s biggest downside is that phone’s menu is painfully slow, in this day and age it shouldn’t be like that ( example: when choosing contact to send txt to phone is “loading” contacts for very long 1.5 seconds…even in the old days phones were never that slow)Another thing: £80 (!) terribly overpriced, I would say £40 max

Not sure whom Nokia are targeting with the 2720. Yes it looks and feels like one of the original dumbphones, but rather than playing to the obvious strengths of those devices it instead comes feeling slow, not especially well made, with disappointing battery life and weighed down with Google Assistant, WhatsApp, YouTube and all sorts of related nonsense that feature phone buyers are desperately trying to escape. It even has several very bad games that you won’t ever play — certainly not more than once, they’re that bad — and which you cannot uninstall to free up the space.As highlighted by other reviews here, pound for pound the battery life is shockingly worse than my old iPhone 12. Because the Nokia feels generally slow and unresponsive, and has a terrible camera you aren’t drawn to using, and when the simplest of tasks — say, searching for a name in your contacts — is made to feel like wading through syrup, you find yourself picking the phone up less and less, and hence the illusion it lasts longer. But do not be fooled.The weirdest thing of all is that, if you’re in the market for a cheap, borderline throwaway phone with a good display, passable camera and far greater control over interface, appearance, system configuration and the widest possible choice of apps, then the Android-based Nokia 1.4 is actually LESS money than this silly thing. And if you’re looking to avoid the distractions of a smartphone altogether, for a dose of digital detox or whatever, then the Nokia 5310 is much cheaper and all you ever need for that job.Don’t buy this. Honestly, don’t.

Glad to have got this phone, it’s very simple which I like, nice to step away from my smart phone, what’s app works perfectly and so does google maps but the main title for this listing highlights that it has google assistant but for some reason mine didn’t have it preloaded?? I searched the App Store the phone has but it’s not in there and couldn’t find anything online. I tried to update the phone and it wouldn’t let me so I’m sending it back as I think the one I received is faulty. Fab phone other than that. I’ll order another and fingers crossed it’s all as it should be.UPDATEI got a replacement and it was exactly the same, seem like the phones don’t come with Google Assistant anymore which would make it a bit easier to use.

Cheap easy phone
Good phone just enough to get you away from mobile media but still be online etc great value phone easy to use so would recommend to someone who just want ls a phone but use fb or Google maps etc. Only issue was delivery was expected on Saturday but didn’t arrive till Monday so wasted a day waiting around for it so it losses a star.

Much bigger than it seems, battery not long-lasting
I bought this as a basic daily phone with useful extras that I could rely on if/when needed (like apps), and expected it to be a small-to-medium size and to have a long batter life as I’d primarily use it for calls and messages.However it turned out to be massive (might as well get a standard smartphone), and battery life was lacking – about two days without any use. I returned it in the end, and bought Sony experia x compact (its battery lasts 10 days on super battery saver mode in which you can call/message).

Attractive design
This was bought for my partner who hates smart phones but needed a new dumb one. She doesn’t think the battery life is great but it’s OK. She wasn’t able to transfer her addresses from an older Nokiaa (dumb) phone. I thought it was expensive for what it was, but it is cheap compared to any smartphone.

Like most people who buy this phone. I brought it to get away from years of having a smartphone. It got to the point when I needed a digital detox !. The trouble with smartphones is they tend to take over your life. You feel the need to keep checking stuff like a robot. This phone really is five stars in every department. Fantastic little phone. With all the essential apps you need like Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp etc etc . The battery life is amazing. And as you don’t feel the need to keep checking it , the battery will easily get you through a full day without charging no problem. Slick design, light in the hand . So easy to use. 4g as well so speeds are good. So if you’re looking to get away from the smartphone syndrome this has to be the phone for you by far. Trust me , I have had them all , iPhones, Samsung, etc , but this little baby blows them all away. Get it through Amazon, fantastic service, quick delivery. Say goodbye to being a smartphone robot .

I bought this mobile phone for my 70 year old mother, who will only use Nokia’s, and refuses to use smartphones/anything with a touchscreen!Pro’s* Nice compact size* Decent sized buttons for the keypad* Has WhatsApp on it, so I can finally send my Mum photos and videos. Plus my Mum can send me voices messages using WhatsApp, too (so saves her typing) – NB: You cannot video call on this handset, as there is no front facing camera!* Nice little screen on the front which clearly displays the timeCon’s* Feels very cheap and plasticky – not as robust as the old “Nokia bricks” used to be* Not very loud – my Mum struggles to hear people speaking on this handset compared to her old Nokia handset* Notifications are not very clear to see! My Mum can hardly tell when she’s received a text message or missed call now* Predictive text is a pain to turn off. My Mum likes to text “old school” style, and the predictive text keeps on coming on, and then she can’t turn it off – she never had this problem on her previous Nokia handsets* Camera placement is awful – it’s positioned in such a way that your hand/fingers cover it when holding the handset – meaning fingerprints get all over the lense and it gets very dirty* Apps are very slow loading and ‘clunky’Picture quality of the photographs is as you’d expect for the specifications. The same goes for the screen quality.Overall I think it’s really over priced for what you get, and the quality just isn’t there. I would not recommend it.
