10 reviews for JBL Live 670NC – Wireless On-Ear Headphones

    Sound quality good.

Poor Bluetooth transmission. Bluetooth is less than 8 meters.Decent noise cancellation. Good sound quality 40mm speakers.

    Better Than I Anticipated

I have a lot of headphones: wired (ranging in price from $80 through $1800) as well as wireless (again, a wide range). I appreciate a well-crafted and tuned set of headphones. I also know the audio world can be quite divisive. People seem to think there can only be “audiophile” or “consumer” headphones. And that “audiophile” headphones are superior in every way. While I have developed an ear to appreciate my “higher-end” headphones, I haven’t gotten so jaded as to think they are the be-all, end-all.I bought these JBL Live 670s to compliment my collection of Bluetooth headphones, and I’m glad I did. Recently, I’ve been enjoying the on-ear style (as distinct to the over-ear offerings like the Sony WH-1000XM5, Bose QC Ultra, and Sennheiser Momentum 4), and have been building my collection with the Skullcandy Riff 2 (I liked the marshmallowy comfort, and the sound is passable), the Sony WH-CH520 (a pair of headphones which are priced right and perform admirably), and the Beats Solo 4 (which I returned because I simply didn’t care for the fit or other performance, especially given that I like the Beats Studio Pros so much more). I decided to add these JBL Live 670s to the mix…and I’m so glad I did.The build quality is decent. They feel well made and I enjoy the look, the fit, and the finish. Of the other on-ear headphones I own, I find the JBLs to be at the higher end of build quality. The sound, however, is where these really shine. The Skullcandy Riff 2s are quite utilitarian. They get the job done, and they are fine. The Sony WH-CH520s are a step up in sound quality, in my opinion, especially when using the Sony Headphone Connect app. After A-B testing, I discovered these JBLs to be even more enjoyable than the Sony on-ears. The JBL app is quite featur-rich, and it provides a lot of flexibility to dial in the sound that worked for me.The noise canceling isn’t on the level of the Sony WH-1000XM5 or the Bose, but I didn’t expect it to be at this price. It works well enough for my use case (working in an office). I haven’t taken any airplane rides recently, so I can’t speak to how they work for that. If top-tier noise canceling is what you’re after, I would look to the Bose or the Sony. But for a fraction of the price, these JBL Live 670s are a definite hit for their build, their sound, and their price. These headphones are definitely staying in my collection.

    Ehhh….

Are they worth $100? For me no… the band is extremely tight on my head and ears, I’ve worn them now for only 5 min straight out the package and I already have a tension headache….The sounds is alright… def not noise canceling I can hear my son talking I can still hear my tv and I can still have a full blown conversation with them on the highest volume….All the co trolls and stuff are on one side so it’s hard to control what you want…. I keep hitting the wrong buttons cause they’re all on one ear.Personally I don’t like the headphones, but they might be good for other people when you just need something quick and aren’t sensitive to pressure on your head.

    Great sound

  8. Gale Spring

    Noise?

For some reason, one of the cuffs emits constant noise when the headphones are on.

  9. Marlinda Davis

    Comfortable headset

I have been enjoying these headphones. They are so comfortable and really good sound quality. They’re also easy to use and I have not had issue with connection.

Decent sound, very long battery, no io rating

These sound decent. They pump out a lot of bass so bass lovers may really like them. I did find the bass a tiny bit muddy but not much. The mids and highs are clear and have decent separation. I just think the bass over does them a bit.I don’t make calls on headphones so I can’t report on call quality.I really don’t like the physical controls being all on one side. That’s messy and I often found I hit the wrong thing. These actually have touch controls but only on the right ear. Again, why load everything on one side? So no ability to control volume or ANC/ambient modes. If they would’ve put a touch sensor on the left those could’ve easily been included as touch controls instead of just having to use the cramped physical controls.Unfortunately, I can’t find any info on an IP rating. I guess that fits since the headband has a fabric covering. So if even a light drizzle starts, I’d pack these away to protect them.I think ANC is only ok which is to be expected since they are on ear headphones so could never do what fully over ear headphones can do.The ambient sound or transparency mode is actually very good. The battery life is where these really shine. You’re not going to get 65 hours with ANC on and at higher volumes but you’ll still get a long lasting battery. I think they state it’s around 50 hours with ANC.All in all, they are pretty good but could’ve been great with better design of controls and some water resistance.
