Absolutely wonderful sound quality
Bass and rear speakers fully adjustable. Sounds perfect with movies and also Bluetooth for phone. Really loud top volume and the sub is seriously powerful. Crisp mid and high end also, incredibly happy with my purchase I don’t normally do reviews but felt the need to tell you, it’s worth every penny and any negative reviews are wrong. Sometimes I have to turn down the bass to be kind to the neighbors. Completely enhanced my viewing and listening experience, go buy it.

Really love this soundbar system
I went from a wired Samsung HT system to this when I upgraded my TV. I love this system. The rear wireless speakers feature is great. Occasional popping noises and you may have to position your rear speakers in a few places to get the right output – they are a little softer, I have them right behind the sofa. Sounds really great for music. Connects easily to my and minimal wires. Really recommend this one.

Great Home Theatre System
This theater system is amazing, in sound, price, and ease of set up. Well the sound is as immersive as you would expect, it is just everywhere! Movies are a totally different experience, the rear and front speakers are crystal and well defined, the subwoofer gives a beautiful low rumble, for the money, it does a fantastic job. All in all I would thoroughly recommend this speaker system.

TV has randomly been turning on/off since purchase
I’ve been having a frustrating issue with my sound system since I bought it. It randomly turns on the TV and mutes/unmutes itself, even when I disconnect the remote and ensure there are no other remotes nearby. Despite resetting it and trying every possible connection with my Samsung smart TV, the problem persists. It seems to function normally for about 2-3 hours before it starts acting up again.update: I changed my Fios cable box’s settings to control volume from TV instead of device. Might be the fix I needed after months of suffering through waking up every morning with the TV on

DO NOT BUY- Terrible rear speaker Bluetooth performance, terrible repair service
Update: DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. And if you bought it and are frustrated that it doesn’t work, DO NOT send it in for repair, just return it ASAP.We purchased this product and had nothing but problems with it. When we requested to send it in for repair, Sony said they would provide a box, then after multiple emails and calls we were told they would not provide a box, and we needed to pack it ourselves. We then paid $30 to have FedEx to pack it, and shipped it off. It was received and United Radio proceeded to send several emails keeping us updated on the status, letting us know they couldn’t replicate the issue. Then out of nowhere, they decided the item was damaged during shipping. At this point, after multiple calls and emails to both Sony and United Radio, they will not provide us proof of the state of the package on arrival and are stating that there is nothing else they will do. Now we have a product that doesn’t work AND that was clearly damaged while in the “care” of United Radio. I’m so disappointed in the utter lack of respect and care from Sony. I’ll never buy another Sony product again now that I know they simply don’t stand behind their products or their customers.—Be aware, the rear surround amp/BT receiver does not work very well.I have mine in line of sight with the subwoofer 8’ away on the floor. I am plagued with random connection issues, sharp audible digital chirps.The main front speaker & sub sound good for the price but the surround is virtually useless. I’m going to contact Sony to see if my surround unit is faulty. It’s possible mine exhibits abnormal behavior but if you buy and experience the same results, feel confident in a return.

Yo lo compré en el hot sale y siento que fue un precio razonable. Lo estoy usando para mí PC a través de Bluetooth. La calidad de audio es buena y tiene buen nivel de volumen, no lo he usado al 100 de volumen.Contras:De vez en cuando (algunas veces muy frecuente) las bocinas inalámbricas hacen ruidos como de tronido o ticks agudos y fuertes. No creo que sea defecto de las bocinas como tal, sino del receptor inalámbrico. Es algo molesto cuando pasa. Ya alejé y acerqué el receptor y aún así en cualquier posición sucede.No tiene ecualizador, aunque viene bien ecualizado estaría bueno poder ajustarlo a tu manera. Y los botones táctiles del subwoofer son odiosos, sería mejor tener botones físicos.

BEWARE OF DELIVERY
The system is excellent, easy to set up, great sound. But BEWARE! This box was left at my front door naked, just like you’d pick up off a shelf, no wrapping whatever. Nor was I informed it had arrived.

Gives you surround and bass, but quality is bad
I’m a musician and anyone who says this system sounds “amazing” needs to get their ears checked. The bass is okay but the mids sound clunky and there’s a shocking lack of high end. You’d think with speakers that small the one thing you’d have plenty of is treble, but it sounds dull and I have a hard time hearing what people are saying even with voice enhancer on. Very disappointed. I realize it’s only $300 but I expected better from Sony. Best thing about the system is the full bass and the (sorta) wireless rear speakers. But if it’s quality you’re after, I would not recommend this system.

Speakers : speaker came In perfect condition and sony provided all required items like hdmi cable.Remote have all the required button to navigate and subwoofer have the tiny digital display to function the device but there is no app support provided for the Speakers so all changes are need to be done using that small display and remote which is lil dis appointmenting.Rear Speakers: Rear speakers are producing well balanced sound and the volume can be adjusted by going to menu –> speakers –> press down for speaker .L or .R distance to adjust the distance maximum 6 meter can be set and again press down speaker .L or .R volume to increase the volume setting to 6 will match the main speaker volume.Sound quality : sound quality is excellent every detailed sounds are captured and produced by sony . 5.1 surround sound is perfect . Rear channels amplifier signal had no issue and connect perfectlyService by sony : At first I should appreciate the Sony service person, who came and installed the Speaker… Had a very good knowledge and measured the area properly before fitting the speakers. After fitting he did adjusted the Speaker setting according to the room.Delivery: Delivery is excellent by the amazon and had no damages or issue with the product.initially I had a worry on service centre replacement and I called amazon to get clarified. They told me to check the product while delivering and make sure to have an evidence by recording video of unboxing to report any loss in the package for replacement. Incase of an issue with product like rear speakers not working properly are can be addressed by service centre.Over all am happy with the purchase.

Fácil de instalar y usar
Lo compre para mi madre, ella usa Spotify vía Bluetooth y USB para oír música, Sony no es mi marca preferida para opciones de sonido u “Home theater system”, Para eso prefiero un Onkyo, Denom, etc, tiene 600 w de potencia pero, por alguna razón conectado al servicio de cable (Totalplay) la potencia no da su máximo; Totalplay yo pensé por ser 4k servicio sería 5.1 channel audio cómo en USA (soy de California) pero no lo es, transmiten el audio en 2 canales o stereo, incluso apps como Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+ tienen la misma salida de audio. Conectado a una “Smart TV” y usando las mismas apps de la tv obtienes sonido 5.1. Las altavoces envolventes van conectados a un amplificador y este es el inalámbrico el cual puedes posicionar atrás de ti para gozar del sonido envolvente. Tiene un gran sonido y potencia, pero carece de las opciones de distancia y decibeles que un Onkyo o Yamaha te puede ofrecer para personalizar tus necesidades. Creo que es buena opción habitación pequeña e incluso para usar con tu PS5.

Perfect for me
I’m enjoying the new set up replacing my previous Sony sound bar and subwoofer. It took minutes to set up. Putting together the rear speaker stands took more time than the plug and play. The rear speakers do their job perfectly as they are meant to do…the extra sound effects like glass breaking, the explosions, bullets zipping by, background chatter from the main character dialogue. Same with console gaming. I usually keep it on standard surround for tv, movie and gaming. The center speakers are a great upgrade from my other one with the three speakers and the sub does its thing. Playing music on the other hand is different, switch to the music setting reading out on the subwoofer. Can play for sure but you’re not having a house party with this setup. Busting the rear speakers would be awful especially for those who have blown car audio know what I mean. All in all…I recommend this setup for Sony fans, easy setup and sounds great.

Best for music, okay for movies or shows
Overall being a Sony fanboy, I am already biased. It works great with my 55” Sony Bravia really well. Need to tweak and adjust distance and sound settings. Once you get it right, it is amazing. Surround sound and bass is out of the world as expected from Sony.However being unbiased, not the best while watching movies with low voice as low bass is not that great since this is upper bass heavy and so normal high def audio and movie is great but normal quality video and voice sounds muddy. I liked Zebronics jukebar better for movies or tv shows but had compatibility issues with Sony TV in the HDMI eArc port. This is a worthy replacement if you can make do with adjusting for lower voices.

Writing the review for Sony HT-S40R soundbar After using it for 2-3 days, my initial experience is just ‘Wow’.I must say that the soundbar is worth every penny spent on it. The 5.1 channel surround sound is real and gives a theatrical experience. The positioning of the rear speakers is the key to getting the surrounding effect, as it catches background sounds perfectly and produces low frequency output. The base is great and packs the punch.The delivery from Amazon could have been better. Though the product was delivered on time but the packaging was not that great.Overall, super happy with the purchase.
