I decided to put these lights in my bathroom. I’m in love with them and so is everyone else. It did not come with a remote but you are able to change all the colors and setting in the app on your phone which is better then an actual remote. Get it! I recommend it!

Highly customizable, very easy to connect and use!
App is very user-friendly with some great advanced user features. Only reason I deducted a star is because these are not very bright in comparison to other Govee products I own, and they are not individually addressable. You do get a lovely gradient in each “section”, but you have to address the lights by 1′ section. Beautiful lights.

Nice Lights, But Doesn’t Work With Google Home
This was my fifth GOVEE light purchase. Since I’ve been happy with their lights thus far, I’ve been sticking with the brand. I enjoy how everything can be grouped and controlled within their own app and then turned on/off with my Google Home — EXCEPT FOR THESE LIGHTS.Yes, these lights look nice. They’re colorful and bright. They have a lot of color patterns and options and all can be controlled from the Govee app once you connect them via your phone or tablet.I have these above my kitchen cabinets and at night time when I turn out all of the regular lights in the apartment, I like to tell my Google Home to turn on all of my colorful lights and it looks really cool. But you CAN’T do that with these. And I didn’t realize it until Google told me that they weren’t setup yet.Yes, it was technically an oversight on my part, but I can’t fathom why a product that was first listed here in 2021 is lacking the ability to be controlled by smart devices when most of GOVEE’s other modern products can be.My prior Govee purchase was the RGB Basic Strip Lights so I just presumed that the RGBIC Basic Strip Lights would operate the same way especially since they were an upgrade over the RGB lights. They don’t and it’s a bummer.

Love the lights, good quality and customizable with the Govee app. One downside I that they are only addressable in sections of 4 LEDs not each led is individually addressable. The DIY mode on the app is also extremely difficult to use and there isn’t much I can find online for directions or “how to” videos. The product itself is solid. App needs a little TLC

Bright and Awesome
Very easy to install, with included alcohol pads to clean the surface with. The app is easy to navigate and very user-friendly. The included remote also makes it convenient to change the colors of you don’t have access to the app. The strips are bright and the adhesive is very strong.

Excellent Quality
These lights have been on the exterior of my house in the Arizona sun for a year and are doing great. I had a strip fail due to user error and I needed to replace obviously with Christmas fast approaching. I had to peel and scrape the old one off my roof line. I was blown away by the adhesion quality of these strips. Rest assured, you will not be disappointed in a purchase of these strips. If the AZ sun can’t beat them then I’m sure nothing can!

I was blinded by the light
I couldn’t figure out why these cost as much as they do at first but they were the perfect size and set up for what I wanted so I bought them. I figured out upon plugging them in why they are the price they are. They’re brilliant light and the color transitions are smooth where they’re supposed to be. The remote is pretty standard as they come. Appear to be good quality but I’ve had them out of the box for 30 mins so we’ll see. I like the silicone over the light strip. Won’t tear as easy like some I’ve had do to me. Worth the money so far

I only needed about three feet of the actual LED strip for a shadow box I have. I also wanted to be able to control the lights depending on the season and mood easily. The setup was super simple. Install the lights, install the phone app, pair them up and done. Happy with this purchase

It WAS great and cool….UNTIL….
It was going well. Then unfortunately the power went out at the house due to a power outage in our neighboring city… we had the lights hooked up to a power strip the one that pops to not cause a power surge. Everything came back on just fine EXCEPT THE LIGHT STRIP…. There is a small section of the like 10-15 likes that are always lighter or the wrong color. It’s it’s on cyan or light blue, “the few” show up white. If it’s purple, then it shows up blue-with pink or purple. On the low level brightness, it’s not that bad. But it’s not that good either. Raising the brightness makes it worse.Moral or story, I have none…I don’t know what I could have done better. But it is what it is…

They’re Amazing!
My fiancé and I love this product! We hung these lights up in his game room and they covered every bit of space that we needed them to. They were easy to put up and work wonderfully. My fiancé loves to explore the app and all of the different setting options with these lights. We simply can’t get enough. Everytime we go in there, we could have a different light setting. These light up the entire room so we don’t even need to use the over head lighting. I would 100% recommend these to anyone looking for good quality LED light strips with 100s of light settings!

Sewed LEDs onto jacket, unfortunately they did stop working after a single use due to me pinching a part of the line. However while they didn’t last very long they worked amazing for the rave! Sound reaction is perfect

Easy set up, great app control with TONS of options on brightness, color, pattern, etc. Took about 20 minutes total, mostly just because we had to extend the tv out to apply them to the backside. Great price! Will be purchasing for other tvs in the house! So happy!

Decent Product
This product is good, just wasn’t what I needed. I wanted something that went with my tv, and this does based on sound, but not based on the image. That was my mistake. I also bought them to add extra lighting in my bathroom and they were not bright enough on the brightest setting. Also they don’t recommend putting multiple strips together, so if you cut it then it will always be stuck at that length.Overall it’s probably a great product, I love my Govee lightbulbs I have, great for an ADHD person that always forgets light. The Govee app is user friendly and I will always choose their products.

There are a lot of options to customize the light patterns through the phone app. The app is functional and easy to use. Lights are reasonably bright. There is no physical remote included but it is not really required as the app is much more functional.

Great if the strip we got actually had worked
We’ve ordered 3 sets of these and one did not come working. Not entirely sure why but we are waiting on replacement and hoping it gets here quickly.We do love these lights which is why we ordered more. The fact each bulb changes individually is definitely more AWESOME than RBG strip lights. They give you more of a variety of functions to use and do seem to follow the music from phone microphone a bit better than RBG strip lights. Besides the one strand not working these are AMAZING!

No quick disconect
There is not a quick disconnect from the lights to the switch (which uses adhesive to attach to wall) with lights on my monitor and switch stuck to wall I was not able to move my monitor without tearing off adhesive. Results were a broken monitor…

This LED strip is bright and easy to set-up, but above all it provides an immense option of settings to customize.The app controls allow you to change each 6-LED segment of the strip to assignin it a different color, brightness, or lighting pattern, allowing you to make dazzling displays.As for durability, I will update about that in a few months’ time.

Bought these to replace an older set of Govee lights. They are much brighter and have more options! My only complaint is they do not have the nice thick plastic casing like the old ones do.

For $20, these LEDs were a great value for my purpose and would get an overall 4 stars if not but for the bluetooth problem.Like most strip lights, these are delicate, so beware. The power cord is an ample 6’ long that connects to the control unit and another 12” plus of cord before the lighting strip begins. This creates some options and flexibility in installation.If you desire to use the app to control your lights, it is highly advisable to have the control unit within line of site. Even then, Bluetooth control of the unit is VERY poor. It often takes several tries to turn unit off/on even within one meter of the control unit with no obstructions.Time on/off, and timers are all but useless because the app controls those features. The app needs to be connected for these features to work. If your lights are set to go off at 12:00 AM, but you leave the room at 11:00 PM, your lights are likely to remain on all evening.UPDATE: The bluetooth issue appears to be with the app, not the lights. restarting app generally solve the problem. Therefore, I have upgraded review to four stars as hardware is likely not the issue.

My first one arrived with an issue, but great customer service
I have a number of Govee light strips, I have used them in custom display cases and for backlight on TVs, etc. and I consider myself fairly used to working with them. It was perhaps because I use them so often that I was arrogant enough to mount my strip on the wall before checking to see if all the lights were working.Unfortunately, for the first time ever my light strip did not work out of the box. Only half of it functioned and I was panicking. I had already mounted it, so the adhesive backing was gone, there was no way I could return it to Amazon and so I did the only thing left to me… I contacted the manufacturer. And you know what? They got back to me. All I had to do was take a picture of the problem and show proof of purchase and Govee generously replaced my light strip and I was back in business. I was honestly one of the best customer experiences I’ve had recently regarding product support.If only for that I recommend them highly, but as far as overall quality goes, I’ve also been really happy with Govee. The light strips have a good adhesive, and the Govee Home app is fairly easy to use and syncs well with Alexa. I upgraded the lights in my display cases to all be smart strips so that I can control them without the use of a janky RGB remote, as I have grown to hate those things with a passion. There are only so many times you can have confused signals and come back to your lights being a different color before you just go bluetooth or wifi on everything.These lights in particular are quite nice, and the lights are placed quite close together, allowing you to customize the color scheme better than most. There are quite a few places you can cut the strips along the length, which is nice since you can customize the sizing better. Keep in mind though in the Govee app it does not really understand the new length you may have cut the strip to, so when making new color schemes for your lights there will be a dead section at the end that you’ll want to ignore because that’s the bit you’ve cut off.They also have a 3 pin attachment, not the standard 4, so you will not be able to use standard RGB adapters to link or make extensions. I’ve had no problem though with cutting and soldering the strips as needed, so they’re fine with that – no connection issues at all.PROs:*Bright, colorful, well spaced lights and cutting sections*Great customer service if you have issues with the light strip – contact GoveeCONs:*Unusual 3 pin attachment means normal RGB adapters don’t work*No way to adjust to new light strip length in Govee app, so if you cut it there will be “dead” sections at the end of the segmented color scheme

I originally bought one of the 6.5′ sets to try out. I kind of had an idea on the look I wanted.I loved everything about it that I bought 2 more, as well as this set that this review is under.This set is the one behind my TV. The 3 smaller sets are at the desk.1. I did read the reviews and found that the spacing of the LED’s is wider. This is true, by almost twice as much. But in my situation I could loop this 10′ string around the back of my TV twice. This is a 42″ TV hanging 3 1/2″ from the wall. The double loop around was actually enough to split the difference between the LED’s so they wound up evenly spaced. It works perfect for me. Some of the preset scenes look strange. But they are not something I use anyway. Just mentioning that in case you care.2. This set SHOULD work plugged into your TV’s USB port. But keep in mind that when your TV is off (most TV’s), there is no power going to the USB port. So they will turn off and on with your TV. I prefer dedicated power via the power strip behind my TV. You can then have control over it with the TV off. I prefer this as I have “scenes” set up in the app for day/night.3. The App. THE APP!!!!!!! Holy h*ll they put together a very intuitive interface with a lot of features, without a mention of your credit card.I know…. you read somewhere else that the App is shady/intrusive/etc. because it requires Location Permissions. The reason for this is because the app connects to the lights via Bluetooth. In 2019 the Android system was redone in a way that requires ALL apps working through Bluetooth to have Location permission. It is not because of the app developer. It is because of the programming of ALL Android operating systems since 2019. Any other Permissions can be individually addressed via your Settings>App Settings screen of your phone or tablet. You can do this for all apps. But if it uses Bluetooth, Location permissions must be granted.What I love is the “Group” function within the app. You can link the lights you want together and assign different scenes. You can set up one touch scene changes by saving them. You can create your own scenes in the DIY section. You can break it down into segments on the same string! There’s even timer functions, though I have not played with them yet.I got my first set a few weeks ago and I’m STILL playing with the app and learning stuff when I’m bored. :)Like I said, I bought one to “test it out” and should have bought all 4 sets at once.So far the adhesion has held up really well. I’ve been keeping an eye on where I made my bends but it’s still holding. I THOROUGHLY cleaned the surface. It’s key guys! I’m talking multiple swipes with some 90% rubbing alcohol. Though I’m sure the little included swab would do the trick in a pinch. I didn’t even use it. Went with my overkill approach. Another key is to not remove the protective backing all at once before you install. Peel a bit back, get it started and pull the backing as you follow pressing firmly with your other hand. Get it CLEAN and take your time. A 10 yr old could do it.The ones at the desk are individually plugged into a cheaper stand alone 6 port USB box for power. It gets pretty warm but that may be because I went cheap there. I don’t suspect an issue with the lights because they have been on 24/7 since install and I have never noticed a fluctuation in brightness or flickers. Not once. I needed the USB box for my particular setup but the heat is borderline concerning. Just a bit warmer than expected. So if you plan a similar setup, just something to keep in mind.I have had no issues so I can’t comment to the Company itself or their service. But they arrived as scheduled…. Quick. Instructions are clear and easy to figure out. And for a $20 set of good quality lights, I’d say they have their $h!t together. These aren’t just some “cheap” string of LED’s. You’d expect to find at least one flaw between 4 different sets with the “cheap” guys. I will be purchasing more products from these guys in the future.As you can see…. I give this a HUGE thumbs up! 5 Stars so far! I’ll update if I do have an issue. If you’re reading this, there’s a reason.BUY EM!

Excelente pero no perfecta
Una tira led de mucha calidad, de verdad de las mejores, siempre había utilizado tiras simples de las que solo pueden estar de un solo color a la vez, y esta por su parte puede tener varios colores a la vez, sin embargo tiene ciertos detalles que creo deberían tener en cuenta, esto con el módelo que yo tengo RGBIC H617A.1. La tira no tiene una cobertura de silicón como otras muchas otras tiras por lo cual solo se pude usar en interiores y en un lugar donde no pueda llegar a mojarse por nada o que la puedan tocar ya que la circuitería está expuesta y puede dañarse (Además incluso despues de desconectarse sus condensadores internos aún almacenan energía y si los tocas con los dedos pueden encenderse algunos leds de forma tenue).2. La app para configurarla tiene muchas configuraciones para disferentes ocasiones y efectos pero lo malo es que muchas se reporducen con mucha velocidad, no son suaves y no hay forma de hacerlas mas suaves a menos que los efectos los hagas tu mismo desde la opción DIY. (Espero que mediante una actualización de software pueda arreglarse esto).3. La instalación es sencilla pero la tira al no tener el refuerzo de silicona se siente un poco frágil así que hay que tener cuidado con ella.Para mi sigue siendo una gran tira led, me gusta mucho y estoy feliz con mi compra, solo que no es perfecta en mi opinión.

Worth every penny!
I would measure out how much you actually need before you buy. I ended up with a ton more than I actually needed. And then wrapped it around my whole desk twice. It lights up my room pretty well on 100% brightness. This photo shows about 50% brightness. Definitely download the app and customize it to your liking. I personally don’t really like the options for the moving/motion light changes they are all customizable in speed though. If you have epilepsy I would suggest not trying those features out but they would be great for any party. The only issue I have with these is if you have a timer on your lights you have to be within Bluetooth range for the timer to work, which means you have to have the lights selected in the app and make sure it’s connected. You can have the app open in the background on your phone but cannot fully close out completely. Since these are in my room I have no issue with going to sleep and them turning off. But if you leave the room and come back in I suggest making sure it’s connected around the time you want them to turn off/on. Other than that I highly recommend these. I even bought more to run along the walls of my room.

Amazing for the price!
I spent way too long looking for lights that could change color, connect to an app, and actually stick to my wall. I was about to spend a ton of money on a higher end brand, but ultimately decided to give these a try, and I’m so glad I did.Pros:- easy to apply- adhesive works well- great customer service – I had an issue with one of the lights that I ordered and they immediately issued me a refund- bluetooth connectivity and app work great. There are surprisingly a lot of customization options inside the app, like creating a gradient with different colors and choosing colors for each segments of the stripCon:- The only con, in my opinion, is the length of the wire leading to the power button. If you put your lights along the top of your wall near the ceiling, as I did, then you have to run the power cord down along the wall, hopefully in a corner so it doesn’t look too weird. The issue is that there’s only about 2 ft of cord between the lights and the power button, so the power button ends up awkwardly high on your wall. I’m tall, so it’s fine, but I wish it could hang down lower at like a light switch level.Don’t think twice, get these lights!

Really simple smart lighting
Did a bit of research and wanted to stick with one platform for lighting. This really works and it’s really simple. The app has quite a few features for you to schedule the lighting to turn on and off because after a while you’ll get tired of manually turning them on. So it’s good to make your old furniture look new and your new furnitures to look even better.We have it around our center Buffett office furniture and bedroom furnitures for the simple light illumination.The Buffett one being in our open living room setup, looks awesome when I blast it with loud music and it syncs. Really really cool.

I’ve ordered several lights now from this brand because I know exactly what I’m getting every time. Before we stick to any surface it’s important to wipe it with alcohol and make sure it is clean. From there it is simple, peel and stick ! My teens love these and they are great for gifts. Also got one for my adult sons car from this brand. Bright and a lot of colors

Bought this for my desk. I had tried before with a cheap LED strip and it kept falling off due to poor adhesion and, more concerning, it was clearly quite cheap and eventually the control module that it had literally burned up. I took a chance on this govee after seeing some YouTube reviews and can confirm it is high quality compared to the other cheaper options.This was about 4 or 5 ft too long for my desk so I cut it and can confirm it still works. If you search on YouTube you’ll find videos on where to cut it. I can confirm that all functions/settings/modes work even after cut, which is cool.

Teen son loves it
We bought a cheaper brand and they did not stick very well so tried this set. It was easy to put up and is still sticking to the walls, despite a ceiling fan running constantly. My teen son loves the Bluetooth connection and it is super cool playing with all of the options. Highly recommend for an inexpensive option to light up a room.

Looks good and the app control works good. Only issue I have is that it doesn’t stick great and the set I have on the back of my tv is still lighting up a solid color in some places even though it’s off.
